Fun cool place
St. Augustine DistilleryOn a hot day this place is great for dogs and humans! Very dog friendly tour and tasting in a cool setting of a 1918 building. Spirits are tasty too!
Fun and Interesting
Fountain of Youth Archaeological ParkWhat a great way to learn Florida/USA history with our Pup! It was very well done and we appreciated the indoor, air conditioned Planetarium and Discovery Film (be aware these both get dark if your dog is nervous, I held mine to reassure her.) The outdoor exhibits and Docents were informative and helpful too. Especially liked the Timucua Indian village and exhibits and Docents. Dog water stations throughout the park with lots of shade and grass but signs saying “keep off grass”, which is the only reason I didn’t give 5 stars. Peacocks everywhere so if your dog is reactive to large birds, beware!
Lovely Beach
Vilano BeachThis was a perfect beach to walk and let our Pup play and cool off in the gentle waves. Found a few shells too!
Nice Flat Beach
Crescent BeachBeautiful white sandy beach that is flat and easy to walk, run or ride on. My pup loved it and it felt safe as you could go out far with no steep grade. It’s a county park so there is parking, bathrooms and picnic tables for use. Showers outside for humans but no wands or hoses to get the sand off the dogs.
Wish there were more places like this!
Good Times Dog BarLove this concept! First class doggie play area with a pool for dogs, balls, beds, benches to sit on or hid under, frozen ice balls & more! Plus two staff to help monitor all dogs play nice. You must pre-register and have proof of vaccination (which is great!) and then there’s the adult beverage for us humans and fun talking with other dog lovers. There was also a food truck. We will be going back for the live music and more fun tomorrow!
Great place for dogs and their humans!
Java JointStaff were so dog friendly, brought water and had nice outside seating on the deck overlooking the ocean. Humans enjoyed both breakfast and lunch options with friendly, helpful staff. Bonus was going across the street to the dog friendly beach!
Kitschy and fun for all!
Showcase of CitrusThis place is cute and fun, full of kitschy stuff like The Blues Brothers statues with an alligator, a vintage travel trailer and a giant gorilla! It’s all dog friendly including the eating/drinking area. Even on. Monday there was one food truck with Cuban food that was really tasty. Drinks from the bar to go along with the food were great. The farm animals are so cute, including mini pigs and capybaras, goats, chickens, donkeys and they say alligators but we didn’t see one. Nice adventure with the dog!
Dog friendly car museum
Don Garlits Museum of Drag RacingSo nice to have a place like this that allows dogs inside the museum. My guess is that Don Garlits loved dogs too as we saw photos inside of him and his wife with their dog. The museum is great for people who love cars and follow drag racing. They have done a great job curating and displaying cars and telling a story and history as well. There is even a working jukebox that is fun to play for only a quarter! Big grassy area and picnic area out front too for the patient pups and family before or after.
Beautiful Beach
Clearwater North BeachBeautiful beach that allows leashed dogs to the north only. We did see Beach Patrol so thinking they are pretty strict. Didn’t give 5 stars just because there is no dog wash area for all the sand afterwards! Also beware that none of the local restaurants are dog friendly for outside seating, apparently it’s a City ordinance but we weren’t aware and paid for more parking after paying once already for the beach, only to be turned away at Frenchy’s Rockport Grill.
