      Hidden Gem!

      We felt kind of deceived when we pulled into the parking lot because it doesn’t look like it is going to be anything special. Follow the trail a little less than 1/4 mile from the lot. We came around 2:30 and the park was closing at 4pm but it was plenty of time for a quick walk and sit to enjoy the scenery. Did not disappoint! I would love to see longer hours and better accessibility on the main path for those with disabilities would make this a 5 star for sure.

      A rare habitat hidden away

      Worth a visit, just a few miles from central DC. There’s an aquatic garden and a boardwalk over restored tidal wetlands by the river. Interesting to see, and enough to keep the dog interested, but I wouldn’t expect to spend more than an hour or so there.

      Back to Nature

      Aquatic Gardens is a daily routine walk for myself and my Amstaff Terrier. The broadwalk and the river trail are both scenic, quite nature trails. My dog enjoys the smells of nature and all the critters.
      Kenilworth Park has a wide open inner perimeter with lots of running and walking space. Both are hidden teasures dogs will love.
