Fairmont is now free. No fob or membership needed. I take my dog there at least once a week.

    great dog park

We really like the park! We are using it quite a bit. It is well maintained, has shade for people and the dogs. We wish more dogs would use the park. There is plenty of room for the dogs to run and Ozzie has a great time.

I called to get a fob for entry into the dog park. I live less than 3 blocks away but am a township resident, so I have to pay 90 dollars for entry. I paid 20 for a season pass to Prairie park. Do you want dogs to come to the park or not? Few people can afford those prices!

    Map & Address are WRONG!

The map and address are wrong. Look for the dog park on Prairie Ave. To get there, stay on Douglas, going north until Alamo. Turn left onto Alamo, then left again onto Prairie. The park will be on your left on Prairie between Alamo and Blakeslee, about six blocks away from where it's marked on this map.

    Clean and Private

The biggest drawback and the biggest advantage here is that you have to register your dog to get a key to enter the park. We love knowing that the park's dogs are pre-screened, but it also keeps things a bit... lonely. Frequently you and your dog will be the only ones there. The park is clean, with plenty of room to run, lovely grass to roll, and a few agility obstacles, as well as a water supply for humans and dogs. Koshare enjoys her visits, and there is a regular after-work group of people who come to exercise their dogs. It is a pleasant addition to Kalamazoo.

    Wonderful

I am so happy to have a dog park in the city of Kazoo, very reasonable membership fee's and a great set up. I live very close, it is convenient and perfect for my dog to socialize and exercise. I am a new member and have been there 3 times so far. Hope to see if more full soon....only one dog there each time I have gone! Love it! Thank you City of Kalamazoo!

    Dog Owner

This is a great little dog park! It is brand new as of May 1, 2011. The park has paved areas which makes it accessible to individuals who use wheelchairs, walkers or strollers. There is also a picnic table with a small roof over it to provide shade or shelter. The park has several benches as well as water fountains for both humans and dogs. In addition, the park has a small agility course. Access into the park is by key fob only which is provided after registering with Kalamazoo County Parks and Recreation. This guarantees that only dogs who are up to date on their vaccinations will be in the park.
