    Favorite in the area

My pup and I love this park! he is selective with other dogs, so we opt for the dog friendly walking trail, which usually empty because most prefer the dog parks. The fenced dog parks are nice, there are five different parks, separated by size. I like that usually one is empty and I can take my dog selective dog to play fetch for a bit. Park is always clean and always has doggie bags & water bowls!

    Popular with locals. Quirky

This is the first time I have been to a dog park where people treat the enclosures like their own backyard. When walking up to the large dog yard, the two people in the yard started yelling and running toward the gate and their dog and said their dog wasnt ok with us coming in the yard please go t ok another yard. It is my opinion that if your pet is not social they should be home IN YOUR YARD. I bring my dog to the park to play with other dogs and socialize when she isnt going to daycare. Very odd that they feel this is normal as it happened al ml ost everytime we visited over a three week period. We are from illinois so we will vacation closer to a more "normal" park next year.

    Great Park & People

My dog Beau LOVES to go! He has never had a problem with fleas or any kind of virus from the water. It is mostly sand because the dogs have had so much FUN playing that they killed the grass! There is a bathing station, a CLEAN Bathroom for us huemans and Wonderful staff to take care of the place. There is always plenty of doodoo bags & the dogs get along well. If you come from Clermont you should know there are 2 entrances to Pear Park. The first one goes to were the offices and nurseries are. To get to the Dog Park you have to go to the next entrance. If you go in there you can't miss the dog park it's all the big pens on your left.

    Just a Fence

I have explored Lake County and have yet to find a "dog park" that is something more than just a fenced off area with a hose and disposable bags. People that are boasting about this park really need to get out more, like away from Lake County.

    worth the drive

We have been to several dog parks in Central Florida and this is one of our favorites. Nice friendly dogs - and humans too.

    Great park for dogs

I have been taking my 3 dogs here for several months. It is a well cared for park, and the dogs love it. There are many watering stations, and always a good supply of poop cleanup bags. There is even a dog washing station! The one thing that detracts, and is not the fault of the opark, is that there are cape ter ants that drop from the trees and they BITE! Since this is an environmental park, they may not "spray" for bugs. Off does not work. My advice - don't stand or sit under the trees!

    Fantastic Park!

We love this dog park. I've taken Digger to other parks in the area and PEAR Park is our favorite to date. The different areas have help me to socialize him and get him over some of his shyness. The areas are well kept, everyone we've met has been very helpful and nice. Being able to walk him on the trails as well is a big bonus for me :) Thank you for what you do! We have been visiting two to three times a week for the past month.

    So fun

The park didnt have many people there at that time which was great. The other dogs and owners were friendly with my pup and it was such a shady spot. love it!

    great place

Just learned about the park. Took my puppy and found the park to be clean and neat. If worried about the water and a virus, bring your own bowl! Happily surprised to find a dog bathing station. What a great addition especially during the summer months. 02/25/12.

    Shhhh! Don't tell anyone :)

Don't want to brag about PEAR park too much cuz we don't want to give away our little secret! It is AWESOME! there are 5 fenced areas for different sizes. ALL are clean and have plenty of water and have not noticed any fleas in since we've been going (last 2 wks). There's hardly ever anyone there, even on the weekends. 12/27/2011

Where is this place or is there a place?

I looked up the address and went to Pear Park. It appeared to be very run down, not completed, and we could not find anything that could have been a dog park. It stated there was but did not direct you to it and we couldn't find it. Very Poor

    great for active dogs

Have 2 dogs -- one old guy who just likes to amble along, and there's plentry of room and SHADE to do that. The other is young gal who wants to run run run and there's ample room do that -- with fresh water along the way. The big dog area is really big, much bigger than any other park I've been to.
Yet, very few people go ... maybe they just don't know about it.

I did try to go early Aug and it was closed. Have not been back and hope new road is finished ... which will make it much easier in and out.

    fleas in park

The site is attractive and very convienent; however, the mixed size site is all sand and is infested with fleas. I have not seen any schedule for decontamination, or an improvement. The road is a great asset, but if no one wants to take their dog to this park it is a waste of money. I also did not see any care being taken to ensure the water is clean and free of the virus that gives the dogs parvo. I want to use this site, but my dog's health and safety are more important.
