  Great clean dog park with toys

  I used to take my dog in the free outside area, but recently forked over the cash ($50 per year) to join the park. I love that there are balls, frisbees, water, and even a little kiddie pool for anyone's use. I've found people in the park to be very nice and respectful of me and my dog. There are free poop bags, so the ground is always clean and clear of waste. I've been to other dog parks in St. Louis and other cities, and this one is pretty top notch. They're very strict about membership, but I get why. It takes work and a community to keep the park in such great shape.

  We like this dog park

  I'm so sorry about the two other reviewers experience! I know of who they are speaking about but we didn't have the same experience.
  Although it did take awhile to find the correct info on joining this dog park, we have since been bringing our dog here and have had no issues with any other people of this park. It is NOT a free dog park. Yes, Lucas Garden Park is free to bring a leashed dog to, the fenced-in area there is a yearly fee based dog park, and from what I've been told it's about insurance and keeping all dogs safe and healthy. Living two blocks away, this park provides some much needed off leash running and chasing although it is a long narrow area, it IS enough! Our dog comes back exhausted from her play here, from us throwing a ball or her playing with other dogs. She loves it!!!!
