    LOVE THIS DOG PARK!

We absolutely love this dog park! We’ve been taking our frenchie Ollie here for a few years now. When we moved to the area we looked around at all the dog parks and ended up choosing this one. They have a small dog side and a big dog side. We started on the small dog side when Ollie was a puppy and we wanted to feel out how he would do. Once we felt comfortable we took him to the big dog side. The big dog side has a nice daises walking path that circles the grassy field. My husband and I love to walk laps around the trail while our dog runs and has fun. He typically stays close by us so we’re able to keep an eye out for if he goes number 2. The park also provides poop bags in case you forget yours. There is an annual fee for the park but all the parks in the area require a yearly fee as well. Make sure to bring water with because unfortunately this park does not have a drinking fountain or water source for your dog. So far everyone here has been really friendly and the dogs have all been great too!

    Love this park

I love this dog park! I take my dog here at least 4 times a week and sometimes I bring my sister’s dogs with me. Everybody is friendly and made me feel really comfortable when socializing my dog. I see people complaining of aggressive dogs and my dog did get attacked one time but that can happen at any dog park. These are dogs we are dealing with not kids.

Aggressive Dog And Need A Permit

We stopped by this park and walked over to the unleashed dog area and were reading the signs to enter the dog park...realized that we needed a permit so we were turning around and as we were leaving a leashed large chocolate lab coming out of the park attacked our small golden retriever!! Thankfully we were able to pull our dog away, but that chocolate lab was evil! We socialize our dog ALOT and are members to multiple parks, but we have never experienced that kind of behavior before at a park. Very sad. Also, the park was very muddy. Every dog walking away was covered in mud. Definitely do not go out of your way to visit. We will not be going back.

Seems like I know where we'll be spending our time!

Beautiful spring day yesterday and tons of dogs running and playing. All breeds and sizes. Dogs and their people were friendly and happy to be outside! ;) We had a great time and will be back!

    Love it!!

We have been to this dog park multiple times in this past week and keep coming back because we love everything about it! Our favorite thing about this park is the fact that when we bring our dog here we do not have to worry about her running away thanks to fact that the entire park is completely fenced in!! The park offers benches in the shade and so far all the people have been very friendly! The land of the dog park may be a little smaller than the other parks in the area but we feel it is the perfect size. So all in all, we feel the best part of this dog park is the ensured safety of your pup and the guarantee of a great time!

    dog aggression

First dog park I ever went to. Every time I went there. A fight broke out there is a husky malamute mix named Ralphy who constantly is fighting with the other dogs. The owner doesn't seem to concerned.
The others in the park seem to just shrug it off my dog got bite by Ralphy the owner just said he is trying to establish a pecking order? Not recommended

    Owners picking up

Great park. Well maintained by friendly wardens. Shame that a number of owners seem to feel they do not have to pick up their dog's poop!
Well worth the permit fee - even for residents not from Du Page County.

    Never going

After reading the reviews on here I have decided that I will need to visit the park before deciding upon a permit. I am very mixed by the "know it all mentality".

    'ok'

Matthew - The reason they were saying unleash your dog is because dogs in the park know and sense when a dog is tethered and take advantage of it. They will swarm the leashed dog and it often ends in a potentially bad way. It's not that 'your' dog was leashed, it's the others reaction to it. I've seen a small dog leashed with approx 10 dogs around it, tension builds, and I've seen scuffles. It also puts the leashed dog in a really bad position and causes disruption in the park. Not my idea of socializing.

The park has no water inside so PLEASE bring your own water. I'm sick of having to haul in large amounts of water all the way into the park because owners dont' think they need it (especially in winter or when cooler out).

The park's fencing is inadequate with many areas being not more than waist high. Not sure why DuPage has these short fences in all the parks but it's worrisome.

    Mayslake Dog Park

Sorry, to hear that Matthew felt so offended by other dog owners trying to "help". This is a great area and well maintained. Very friendly people. Although I am new to the area and have been there only 5-6 times, I will return again. We rescued a 3 year old little 8# cutie and thisis a great place to help her socialize. Weekends are very busy but during the week is the best time to come.
