    Free and great location

Awesome dog park. Separate areas for small and large dogs. no fee to get in which we love. Large water fountain and bowls in the summer months - otherwise bring your own. Trail in the back and picnic tables for sitting. Some wet areas near the trails so it can get messy if your dog wanders and discovers the creek area. LOL

    Great Park With Gates Issue

Beautiful big, fenced, off-leash park and now has gates for small and large dogs. But the new gate hinges failed and the magnetic closures don’t work. AND the small dog gates has gaps so large that my dog has escaped. They have no seating area or shade tees in the small area. Looks like they’d live a donor to plant some trees. Buy benches, and fix the gates. Small dogs unite!!

    Favorite Park

As of fall of ‘18 Park now is mostly fenced in, still not in swap areas. There is now a one way gate with a small dog park portion

    Great dog park

It's a great dog park. It's just too big to be totally fenced in. I'd give it a 5 bone but having a large can for dog waste by the picnic tables isn't the best idea in the summer when you have one 40 feet away anyway.

    needs fencing

I just don't even understand how you can call yourself a dog park if you don't have a fenced area. I have two dogs that are Huskies and will run away if they're not fenced in, but love interacting and running around with other dogs. There's no way I can take them to that park.

    Most Wonderful Place

PLEASE NEVER REVERT to two sections: big dog-small dog. I've been to one of those and it does not make for a good mix of variety of dogs. No segregation please!!! Mitchell dog park is magnificent the way it is with lots and lots and lots of positive interactions and co-existence. Also the setting is just so beautiful. Really observe your dog's behavior if you will just let them be free in this experience. The dogs go back into their own dog element instead of people controlling everything they do. I just love it at Mitchell Park and can't say enough about it! TERRIFIC!

    Beautiful dog park!

The fence thing was a little weird but my dogs come when I call them so it was not a problem for us. We really wanted to spend more time there and explore the whole thing but went too late in the day and were eaten alive by mosquitos! Otherwise, loved it and wish we had one like it in St. Paul.

    Not for small dogs

We need this park to be fenced separately for small dogs and large dogs. It's pretty worthless as it stands now.

    Love this park!

We spend so much time at this off leash park. I guess if you don't have a dog you can trust to come to you, it will be stressful to have the open entry way. The land if beautiful to walk on and the people who bring their dogs there are generally wonderful. All dog parks have drawbacks since you can't control the other dogs and you have to trust that people only bring *friendly* dogs to play. For me, this is perfect!

    park

only one shade tree, no fresh water outlets for dogs to get drinks from, and no fence to prevent dogs from getting into filthy swamp water.

    NOT FENCED IN

this park has a fence on three sides and no entry gate. the fence does not run along this side of the park where the marsh is. also in the winter when marsh freezes your dog will be able to reach the road. and again fence on 3 sides and no entry gate to keep your dog inside the park
