White Point Gardens / Battery Park Overview
Hours: 6-10AM, 5-11PM

Well maintained and clean park with lots of shade and grass. If your dog is not under control, don't bother taking him/her off the leash. There are always lots of kids playing here, people having picnics, and of course, traffic on all four sides.

Park was a lot of fun and the other dog owner were very accomodating (our littlest hss a nipping issue we found out). Only complaint is that the dogs all play in the middle of the park but the dog bags and trash cans are at the entrances so a lot of people don't pick up.
Beautiful Historic Site

Charleston appears to be a very dog friendly town. This park isn't fenced in, and has many visitors who aren't here with their dogs. We kept Fredthedog on his leash and enjoyed the historic sights and visiting with some local dogs who are more comfortable with this setting.

Nobody in Charleston calls it Battery Park. Southern Living Magazine calls it Battery Park, but they don't know any better. Battery Park is in New York. It is White Point Garden, and if you like squirrels, this is the place for you.
