Lake Red Rock

Leashed dogs are welcome at pet-friendly Lake Red Rock. Located in Knoxville, IA, this is the largest lake in the state, and it features beautiful bluffs, especially in the fall when the leaves turn colors. Enjoy a walk with Fido along the amazing biking/walking path that goes around the lake and through the campgrounds. The lake is great for boating, skiing and fishing, but please note that dogs aren't permitted on the swimming beach. Visit Website

Dogs not allowed on swimming beach
It is a fact that dogs are not allowed on the swimming beach. However, leashed dogs are allowed on the trails and in all of the picnic areas, some of which are adjacent to the beach. For example, from the Fifield or Cordova picnic areas, one can walk down to the edge of the lake and walk with one's dog. Some of the non-swimming edges of the lake are better for walking with dogs than others.
