    Not bad

I take my pups here once or twice a week because my bigger dog loves free roaming and sniffing. There is so much space, I don't think she ever gets bored. We usually have pretty great experiences, but there have been a couple times where male dogs keep trying to mount my male dog, and once there was a fight but my dogs weren't involved and we just left. I saw the posts about Huckleberry, he's still a regular and he still is big on mounting all the other boys but his owner is fast to respond which is very appreciated.

Great place for the dogs to socialize and stretch their legs! Everyone is super nice!

    dogs loved it

We brought our 5 month old husky and year old pug to the park and they absolutely loved it. There were at least 25 dogs in the bigger dog side and we only saw one in the under 25 lb side. Our pug is 16 lbs and he did just fine with the bigger dogs. All of the dogs were friendly and there was no growling and very little barking overall. This park is huge with so much space for them to run. There is an area with little swimming pools that the dogs just loved splashing around in. Can’t wait to go back!

Best dog park we’ve been to!

This is a great dog park!! We were visiting the finger lakes area and sought this out because of the great reviews. It’s huge, has two separate areas for small/large dogs. It has plenty of seating for people. There is a hose and baby pools for the dogs. There are also compost buckets for poo. There is also a nice waking path for people so you can walk around the park while the dogs play. There were probably at least 20 dogs there, all nice and friendly!

    sad experience

I recently moved to Ithaca, which has been an all around new experience. I adopted my first dog and eventually we went to the dog park. We always had great experiences, and everyone for the most part have been very nice to me and my pup, especially knowing I was a new dog owner and many people could tell my dog was still cautious/scared about the park. But she always warmed up. Like I said this was all new for me and a complete learning experience. Today on 3/19 we had a not so great experience. I am sharing this review not to complain but more to make other 'caring' dog owners aware of what we experience. I noticed someone with two dogs around the back bend of the park when we arrived. As my dog Sadie and I waked around the park I noticed a little 'doggy disagreement' over in that corner. And let me add as a new dog owner I do a lot of research so I am aware that no two dogs are alike and not all dogs will like each other and that is okay. I do not blame the dog in my experience I am upset with the dogs owner. So... we continued to play around I noticed another issue in the same corner with one of the dogs that I saw from the first issue but with another smaller dog again. So I made a mental note I would to try to have my dog avoid that area if possible. Which as we know is almost impossible. So Sadie begins to chase another dog and they run the way to the back bend of the park. Sadie ran by the bench where this grey dog was and the dog ran after Sadie but with a bit of territorial aggression from my personal opinion. I already was running behind my dog because I did not want her that way but it was too late and she responded back to this dog that came after her and they began to fight. I was mortified. As they were going at it, the 'brother dog' to this grey dog began to jump in as well. Luckily for Sadie she is a tough cookie and can hold her own for a few seconds. As I continues to run towards them yelling to the other owner who was sitting on the bench lighting a cigarette to get their dogs. When I finally arrive at the scene the dogs backed off a bit more due to my yelling.
Now like I said I do not blame the dog fully but, this owner began to argue with me that "my dog ran by growling, that this is a dog park and if I have an issue I should not be there, that they were not fighting at all, asking me is my dog cut or bleeding, their dog has never bitten before." and so on.
My issue here is that, these dogs were fighting and it could have gotten much worse if I did not run to stop this, which I feel as owners we all do or would do in this incident. I was not concerned with my dog being bitten or bleeding, I was concerned I ran into three dogs fighting while this owner was worried about lighting a cigarette and yelling at me that it was my dogs fault their dog was aggressively reactive. And as a caring dog owner I did not appreciate how this was handled but the owner.
I hope that for anyone who reads this will now know to try to avoid a similar situation so you will not have to feel how I felt.
This experience was sad and disappointing but will not prevent us from going back. My dog loves the dogs and the park. People should just be more responsible.

    Best Dog Park

I am the owner of Huckleberry and rest assured he is a very well behaved pup. It was completely my fault that I let him act like that when he was a year and a half old. If I had seen him knock someone down I would have totally apologized but at the time I just started my graduate program and was trying to balance doing homework at the park and getting my dog exercise. But again, blame me, not the dog. This dog park is the best, besides what the low-rating review claims. All the dogs are super friendly and are able to run like the wind with the space provided at this park. Just bring your own bags as they have lost the waste disposal contract! But this is by far the best dog park Huckleberry and I have ever been to :)

    Agressive male shepherd mix

Not sure if anyone monitors behavior at the park, but a male, shepherd mix named "Huckleberry" repeatedly mounted (a dominating behaviour) than attacked my male aussie. I had to shout out for the owner, because she was so deep in conversation w/ a friend she wasn't watching her dog. In the tussle the 3 dogs knocked me over. she never apologized or came over to see if everything w/ my dog was OK. Really left a bad taste in my mouth!!!

    Awesome Dog Park

We were visiting the area with our three yorkies and they absolutely loved it. It was really nice because it was divided for large and small dogs. Very nice. There was water, toys, etc. available for the dogs.

    Best dog park I've seen

I have traveled with my dog a lot and I've visited many dog parks all over the U.S. This is a great one. It's large and clean. I'm lucky enough to live at Emma's Acres on West Dryden Rd now though and we have our own private dog park. I rarely go to this one because I have a great one at home now. (Emma's Acres is awesome place to live by the way. If you have a pet you should check it out)
