2014 HOTC Dog Fair

Short version: The 12th Annual Huntsville Obedience Training Club (HOTC) Dog Fair will be held on September 27th, from 9:00 to 3:00, at beautiful Monte Sano State Park in Huntsville, AL. Entrance free, State Park parking fee, $5/car. Leashed dogs welcome. Long version: The 12th Annual Huntsville Obedience Training Club (HOTC) Dog Fair will be held on September 27th, from 9:00 to 3:00, at beautiful Monte Sano State Park in Huntsville, AL. This shaded park is the perfect venue for six rings of continuous fun with dogs. Over 1,000 prizes will be given away. All activities are free except for the Microchipping Clinic (which offers microchipping at a reduced rate) and Monte Sano State Park's parking fee ($5/car). Demonstrations will be offered in Agility, Obedience and Rally, followed by opportunities for the public to try Agility and Rally with the aid of experienced volunteers. There will be two incredible ‘Music on the Mountain’ Freestyle performances, along with photo opportunities for you and your dog using some of the Freestyle props. The Showcase ring will feature two Training Q&A sessions with an experienced trainer who can help address your dog’s behavior issues, a Dog Show for Kids, and the K-9 Escapades, where your dog can compete in categories such as Best Dog Vocals, Most Unique Costume, K-9 Celebrity Look-a-Likes, and more. Kids Central blends education and fun by teaching children how to safely approach unknown dogs, then giving them tickets to be used at Kids’ Carnival booths. Canine Good Citizen (CGC) testing will be offered for much of the day, as will Microchipping. In Adoption Row, you can find your next canine companion at one of the animal shelters and rescue organizations, while Vendors Row offers an assortment of goods and services, ranging from treats, collars, and other material goods, to boarding and private training.
