Doggie Dash 'n Splash

A cast of canines will be cavorting from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 15, at Greene County Parks & Trails (GCP&T) annual Doggie Dash ‘n Splash at the Fairgrounds Recreation Center, Xenia, featuring a one-of-a-kind canine splash ground that resembles a waterpark, entertainment, canine demonstrations, vendors, contests and more. Special activities and events will celebrate the ten-year anniversary of the popular canine festival that celebrates the human-animal bond. Karson, The Wilmington Police Department K9 Officer that was lost for two months earlier this year, will be a featured guest. “We’re thrilled to be able to host Karson and his handler, Xenia resident and Wilmington Police Officer Jerry Popp,” Greene County Parks & Trails Event Manager Robin Gregory says. “We’re excited for our dog community in the region to meet them, thank them and learn more about their work.” The splash ground will be open until 5 p.m. to allow more time to enjoy the canine water park. An additional pool has been added to the canine splash ground to maximize the enjoyment for two- and four-legged guests.
