Hanover Tomato Festival

The Hanover Tomato Festival is a true family event, with free activities for the kids to enjoy while you shop the nearly 200 vendors and purchase Hanover Tomato Festival apparel and genuine Hanover Tomatoes! This year, event community partners are offering hands on games and crafts for all ages! Decorate a Roma Tomato, donated by MARTIN’S, in the Best Dressed Tomato Contest sponsored by Hanover Optimist Club. Kids can take their creation with them or leave it to be judged for a chance to win! Dynamo Soccer Club will be offering free facepainting for everyone and new this year is The Game Patrol video gaming trailer! Everyone’s favorites, rides and the petting zoo, will be there as well. Other free activities offered by community partners include the following: kids games (Advent Christian Church), corn hole and tattoos (Autism Speaks), inflatable slide (Black Creek Baptist Church), free play with LEGO(Bricks 4 Kidz- Tri- cities/Mechanicsville), bow-wow beach, pooch water & cooling station (Friends of Hanover Dog Parks), crafts and tomato fans (Girl Scouts of the Commonwealth of Virginia), kids corn hole (Good with Wood Custom Woodcrafts and Design), Hanover Hounds K-9 Search & Rescue, kids mini-build (Hawks Renovations), tomato planting (Empress Farms), prize wheel and kick/punch target (Master Cho’s Tae Kwon Do), chess games and drawing (Mechanicsville Chess Club), baby changing station, water, rest area (Mechanicsville Christian Center), RIR Kids Club and RIR Pace Car (Richmond International Raceway), nursing mothers privacy station, baby changing station, carnival games, play dough activities, sunscreen (Shady Grove United Methodist Church).
