7th Annual Louisiana Week for the Animals

Animal World USA is please to announce the 7th Annual Louisiana Week for the Animals will kick off on Saturday August 15-23, 2015 with a wide range of exciting events. Governor Bobby Jindal has officially proclaimed Louisiana Week for the Animals. During this week long of celebrations there will be lots of fun and educational animal-oriented events for both children and adults taking place in locations across the state. This is a unique opportunity to bring together animal advocates, shelters, rescue organizations, animal health care workers, educators, students, businesses, artists, musicians, community leaders and caring citizens for the purpose saving lives and transforming communities. Throughout the week, shelters, rescue groups, and humane organizations across Louisiana will be hosting special events including adoption fairs, spay/neuter awareness events, health clinics (offering free or low cost spay/neuter), micro-chipping and vaccinations) shelter days, special educational seminars and library events, dog training sessions, pet food drives, new volunteer and foster orientations, animal care workshops, first aid classes, benefits and other fundraisers, pet photo contests, therapy dog visits, art shows, walks for the animals and a blessing for the animals.
