Maryland SPCA Holds March for the Animals Kick-off Party

To help celebrate the Maryland SPCA’s upcoming 21st annual March for the Animals 1.5 mile walk-a-thon and festival, a March for the Animals Kick-off Party for people and their pets will be held on Friday, February 26, 2016 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Downtown Dog Resort & Spa in Baltimore. All proceeds will be used to help save the lives of the thousands of animals that come to the MD SPCA each year. “The March for the Animals Kick-off Party is a great way for pet lovers and their pets to get together for a fun night while raising funds for the care of pets at the Maryland SPCA,” said Tami Gosheff, outreach and special event manager at the MD SPCA. Dogs can participate in off-leash play in the doggie daycare and swim in the indoor pool. Still Treasured Photography will be taking free photo booth photos of pets with their families. This year’s March for the Animals honorary ‘chairdog’ Norm, a former MD SPCA pet who was able to receive life-saving medical care because of fundraisers like the March and Kick-off Party, will be greeting guests. Admission is $15 in advance and $20 at the door per person and includes complimentary hors d'oeuvres. There is a suggested $5 donation for beer and wine. Kids are welcome but must pay the full price of admission. Dogs in attendance must be fully vaccinated; female dogs in heat will not be permitted. The Downtown Dog Resort & Spa is located at 200 W. Animal lovers and their four-legged friends are invited to participate in the 1.5 mile walk-a-thon and festival to help raise funds to provide care, shelter, food, spay/neuter procedures and medication for the homeless pets in the MD SPCA’s adoption center.
