October Tails Halloween Themed Dog Walk

For the second consecutive year “Oliver,” an English Cocker Spaniel, and “Lucy,” a Border Terrier, have been named honorary Co-chairs of the event planning committee for “October Tails,” the Saint Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center’s (SBHPCC) 2nd annual Halloween-themed dog walk fundraiser. The walk will be held in Verona Park on October 25 (rain date is November 1) from 1:00 – 4:30 p.m. and will feature special guest Maria Milito of Q104.3 FM. The centerpiece of “October Tails,” will be a Halloween costume contest for dogs, with cash prizes in the following categories: Most Original; Funniest; Most Heartwarming; and Best in Show. The event will also include children’s activities, food, ice cream, beverages, agility demonstrations, obedience games, a pet caricaturist and vendors. The first 100 people to register will receive a free October Tails t-shirt and dog bandana. Ask your friends, family and co-workers to sponsor you and your dog(s) with a minimum donation of $10. Prizes will be awarded to top fundraisers. Proceeds will fund “Paws for Patients”, a new pet therapy program to benefit patients and families facing advanced illness.
