Doodle Day

Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue (DVGRR) will hold Doodle Day on Saturday, June 4, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at its Golden Gateway facility at 60 Vera Cruz Road, Reinholds, PA. The event is open to the public and will feature games and family and canine fun. All Doodles (and non-Doodle canine siblings) are invited, and dogs must be on lead (no flexi leads, please). DVGRR will ask for a $10.00 donation per family that will include games, hot dogs, and one drink per person. Additional snacks will be available for purchase. Lawn chairs and blankets are encouraged. Additionally, DVGRR will provide educational information regarding the breed for those thinking of adopting or rescuing a Doodle. “We opened our arms and program to Doodles a few years ago because they represent half of our breed,” said Inza Adams, DVGRR Events Manager. “Breed organizations don’t condone the purposefully breeding of two purebreds to create a ‘designer’ dog; however, we couldn’t turn our backs when we began seeing increasing numbers of Doodles in need of rescue, and more of these dogs have been regularly arriving from puppy mills.” Sponsorships are also available to offset the cost of the event, and all proceeds will be used for care of dogs in the program waiting for adoptive families. ###
