Attend any of the dog shows, agility competitions, costume parades, festivals or fundraisers on our Dog Events Calendar and you’ll meet, hundreds maybe even thousands, of dog lovers. And since 70% of the events listed benefit humane societies, attending one is a great way to help homeless pets too.

Frankenmuth Dog Bowl The world's largest Olympic style festival for dogs featuring lots of high-energy activities for the pups like running, jumping, diving, and retrieving! The Dog Bowl includes events you can watch and events that Fido can compete in! Activities include dock and disc dog competitions, sheep herding demonstrations, wiener dog races, a pet costume parade and so much more. The Annual Canine Cruise and nightly Balloon Glows in the River Place Shops field also happens this weekend. There is free parking and admission, although some activities require a separate fee. Concerts on the Creek Bring Fido and the family out for live music and dancing along the creek with beautiful mountain views. Movies on the Square You can bring Fido and the family downtown every weekend for this viewing event. Enjoy live music and activities starting at 4:00 PM, followed by a movie at dusk. Don't forget to bring blankets and sleeping bags for comfort, and grab takeout or snacks from downtown businesses to complete your movie night experience! Friendly, leashed dogs welcome. Mixed Tape Mini Fest Kick off summer with an outdoor show featuring east coast pop punk bands Lyndhurst, After The Broken, Dinosaurs in Paris, and Sight for Sore Eyes. River Tubing Four-legged adventure pals are invited to join their humans on this exciting excursion down the river! This easy, four-mile float takes anywhere from three to four hours. Note that the Food and Adventure tickets include a turkey or chicken sub sandwich, assorted fruit, a cookie, water and lemonade. Note that if your pet pops the tube, there will be a replacement fee. Green Paws Fest The whole family, including four-legged members, are invited to stop by this environmentally-focused festival featuring eco-friendly activities, pet adoptions and plant-based treats. Canine Cruise on the Cass River Back by popular demand, this exciting cruise returns during the Frankenmuth Dog Bowl! Bring your pup to this unique tour taking place aboard the Bavarian Belle historic paddleboat, which docks on the north side of the River Place Shops. Pets are not only welcome but also encouraged! Cruises will be at 8:30 AM and 9:45 AM on both Saturday and Sunday. Each tour lasts around 45 minutes and includes a narrated history of the town and plenty of photo opportunities with your pup! San Diego Doggy Dash Lace up your shoes, throw on Fido's leash, and dash over to this race! Participants will compete in a 100-foot sprint alongside pet lovers and their four-legged companions.
