Chewing Hole in Pet Carrier
The first time I flew with my Chihuahua (on a short flight from SFO to Las Vegas), she was so nervous that she actually chewed a hole in her carrier in a (failed) escape attempt. I travel frequently and want to bring her with me again, but I'd prefer not to sedate her. Does anyone have any other suggestions for nervous travelers? Maybe it was just first-time jitters?

try herbal calming remedies
Hi, I just flew my pets over the ocean and we used Travel-Ease and Happy Traveler. I described these in my post about things you might want to try on your pet before flying and crate training, at my new blog http://move2hawaii.blogspot.com/. You need to crate train your pet also so it is used to it. Aloha

Fly with comfort
One thing that we suggest at Pet Airways is to put a toy or item of clothing in with the pet, something that is familiar to them such as a blanket with your smell on it. I dont think you should sedate your pet as its very dangerous for many animals and at Pet Airways we always suggest against sedating animals as its not safe for pets during air travel specifically.
