Pet Airways coming soon - Safe Pet Travel!!!
Pet Airways, the first pets-only airline specifically designed for the safe and comfortable transportation of animals. They are scheduled to begin flying pets in Spring-Summer 2009 to major destinations throughout the continental U.S. Pet Airways will begin taking reservations in February, 2009. What sets Pet Airways apart from major airlines is that pets fly in the main cabin, not in cargo. “Our pets will travel in the main cabin of our specially outfitted aircraft with climate and lighting controlled for comfort and safety and with a trained Pet Attendant always watching over the pets,” the company says.

They're focusing on creating a commercial airline for your dog, cat or other types of animals to travel safely and comfortably. Pets probably get more leg room than humans in coach currently do :)

The airline will offer nationwide coverage with easily accessible check-in lounges in major metropolitan areas. Because people who want to travel with their pets and those who need to move their pets across the country are faced with limited or dangerous transportation choices, Pet Airways aims to make the experience more comfortable and enjoyable. Visit Pet Airways to learn more about how pet travel will be revolutionized at http://www.petairways.com.

wow!
What a brilliant idea! I just wish it was an international company. I haven't been able to go on vacation for years because I will not put my dogs in cargo. Terrific idea! I hope you succeed so well that you expand your business to include international flights worldwide! :D

International Flights for Pets?
Our family would also be interested in this company offering international flights. We would like to be stationed in Europe again, but our border collie has never been quite the same since the delta cargo flight from Frankfurt to Atlanta. I any one aware of any safe international travel options for pets??

Free tour of Paris
I went on the free tour of Paris with Alex on 19 November. I must confess that it was was of the best tours I have ever been on. Alex is certainly the best tour guide I have ever seen. He didn't get too carried away with history and he was extremely accurate on his facts. His stupendous energy and enthusiasm motivated me to go on the Montmartre tour the same night. I wish you all the very best and I have recommended my friends to take the tour.

We've been flying with the Dogtravel Company
This is a good idea but it doesn't look like they are real yet. We've been flying with the DogTravel company for the last year. First when we relocated back to the west coast, and we just flew back home for the holidays! They're great and you actually get to travel WITH your pet rather than putting them in cargo or on a cargo plane. Harley (my golden retriever) sits in the seat right next to me during flights. If anyone needs to fly now with their dogs I'd reccomend them. Their website is www.dogtravelcompany.net

Nonsense
Is there to be no escape from people and their pets? Don't get me wrong I believe pets should always be treated with loving care but enough already if you can't stand the idea of being away from your pet don't go. I can just see it know babies crying, dogs barking, cats hissing and meowing and if the goverment allows it soon people yelling into their cell phones. Maybe we can get real lucky and the pets can all take a dump and leak as well. What a world where people can't stand to be away form their pets and have to bring them along. What about the people that are alergic to pets what are they supposed to do? I now expect to be roasted alive about these comments and people will say I should be more open minded let's see how open minded all of you are to a different opinion.

Hey you stupid idiot, you ever hear of people that have to relocate across the country and need to get their pets to their new home. GET A LIFE AND FIND SOMETHING MEANINGFUL AND IMPORTANT TO COMPLAIN ABOUT!

A Little understanding please
I understand the concern raised about the potential for problems with pets traveling in the cabin. However, all that pet owners are looking for is a SAFE, SECURE method of traveling with our very valuable family members.
I would like to see something that would allow us to bring our pets. They can be in their crates secured away from others but where someone can keep an eye on them. If wouldn't be so difficult to set up an area in the back of the plane where several crates, kennel style, could be set secured.
I would be happy to pay full regular fare for the ability to have my 20 pound dog on the flight with me. It could be done and still have comfort for all.
