Greece to London help please!

Hi all,
I have been trying for months to find an airline that will bring our small Bishon Frisae from Athens, Greece to London (any airport)
Calling Heathrow airport is a waste of time since the whole service is completely automated and no human can be contacted. I called British Airways who informed me that only a couple of carriers have a license to bring in pets of which Olympic Air was one. I contacted them and they said they cannot due to London restrictions and their partnership with Aegean which restricts them also.

I only want a small space on an airplane for goodness sake! It seems most other countries don't have this problem coming in but Greece does?

I can't afford to pay hundreds to one of these pet specialist transporters either.

Our dog has had all stuff done, chip, blood tests, checks, all passed and OK'd from the vet in Greece about 8 months ago.

If anyone has any ideas or knows of any airline that will accommodate, please let me know, I am desperate.

Thanks in advance

EU PET PASSPORT: getting your dog to UK via KLM

Do you have a EU pet passport for your dog, if not, go to vet and get one. make sure you have worm pills and rabies vac.
then if you have a small dog it is easy take it aboard in a pet container that fits under seat, (soft carrier) on KLM flight. or large dog in crate look on kennel crate that it is certified for air travel and that the crate fits your dog accordingly so they can sit and lie down comfortable. THE UK regulations have changed they are better at accepting dogs from other countries; and the time you put on Tick medication 24 hours before etc...dog taking worming pills 10 days before, etc...has relaxed, but do both! Have vet sign your pet passport, and that the vet gave you both and then confirmation at airlines a date; (KLM sends pets through summer months). more than three hours in advance is a good idea! Also having a helper at the airport returning the rent car etc...waiting with dog. I think a helper is the real key to having a good trip!
