International Pet Travel Dog Travel Forum

I am looking to take my hound from London to the Turks and Ciacos in the Caribbean. BA only allow pet travel companies that want to charge me 2000 dollars. Virgin will allow her to travel as cargo on my flight for 1400 dollars but only as far as Miami. Does anyone know of a cheaper method ? People have recommended American (who do fly to the Turks and Caicos via Miami) but they are refusing to pick up the phone after 3 days of trying.
Any advice welcome !
