International Pet Travel Dog Travel Forum

Trying desperately to fly our two female dachshunds to UK. We know we cannot enter UK with them in cabin so we are looking at flying to Amsterdam however most airlines are 8kg weight limit which our dogs are each right at the cusp, or a tad over. This is looking crazy expensive to find an airline. Lufthansa is like $3000+ for one of us. Anyone know a secret or have advice or maybe another option? We know from there we would take the ferry from Hook of Holland to Harwich to get them in UK. Such a headache. I am just against them being in the hold. They are too small and one shakes like crazy in the car I can only imagine in a dark cargo hold.
