Where are the pet friendly beaches around Traverse City?

Unfortunately, dogs are not officially allowed on Traverse City beaches. I called the city to confirm and they gave me the same answer.

Pet friendly beaches???

Recently traveled with my dog to the UK, Brighton, and had really great time there. beaches are clean and my Jack (newfaundler) had lots of fun))
enter to some cafes there is also ok with dogs
