Driving Vacation Suggestions

Last September we took.a 2 week trip with our 2 goldens, using Rapid City, SD as a base. It was a great vacation. We would like to explore other areas (preferably out west) this September. Are there any suggestions for a 2 to 3 week driving trip, with plenty of outdoor activities, that are pet friendly?
