2/6/16 Raining and miserable out, we booked into room 102 on the corner. Where do I begin after that? They say they are pet friendly, in reality they charge a hefty fee for each dog visiting. We never did find a "dog run" for our pets. Rooms are small and somewhat dated. Despite advertising fairly reasonable rates, our room was $155.00 for a single night! No discount for AAA, AARP or Military unless it is a weekday. They make you sign a statement that you agree to be charged extra should you "stain" a towel! Less than five minutes after we checked in and got everything unpacked, the manager on duty appeared at the door to advise us that they had an electrical problem and we could either take a shower in another room or move to another room. I will never be convinced that this wasn't a ploy designed to get us to pay before advising us of this deficit. We dealt with two different desk staff and both of them were exceptionally rude. Wife's dog is a therapy dog and the lady behind the counter wasted no time in quoting state law concerning which dogs qualified for discounts and which dogs don't. There are may places to stay in Cedar Key, ALL OF THEM HAVE A VIEW. Save yourself time and money and stay away from Beach Front Motel.
