1. A Solid Middle Hotel

We (Rm 1:2adults, 3kids, and Rm 2:3adults, 2dogs) stayed on Sat and Sun 7/21 & 7/22 2007. At first we were a little leary, the hotel had had some problems with plumbing & AC in some rooms, but ours were fine. All rooms have a balcony. Check-in is definitely 3-4pm, no earlier, but you're welcome to use the pool, or beach while you wait. Dog friendly beach is several miles south, but was very nice. A few miles north is the 'main drag', lots of retaurants and clubs. The hotel was a nice middle road hotel, and we would like to stay there again next year. AAA discounts available, $15 a night for pets, and a nice continental breakfast bar 7-10am. Smoking and no-smoking rooms, 6 floors, great beach access, busy yet friendly staff. Rm 1 was only $303 for the two nights with discounts and tax. Rm 2 was a bit more because of the dogs, and they charge $10 a night per extra adult. Altogether a nice break from the mom and pop motels we usually book for beach trips.

We couldn't have been happier. The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom and kitchenette sparkled. The grounds were landscaped and manicured like a resort. We arrived at the tail end of tropical storm fay so the pool had a small amount of debris but was cleaned at 6 a.m. The morning after our arrival so it was perfect. I have to say that the service was very cautious and professional, like that of a high end resort. We would recommend it to anyone, pets or no pets. There is a small pet walk area and "poop' bags at the front desk. The weight limit is 40 lbs. for your pooch. We were ocean front and 3 nights with 3 people, jasmine and a kitchenette was $418.00 with tax. We will return.
