1. Pet friendly hotel

This hotel charged us $10 for our dog and gave us a non-smoking room, which is what we wanted. It is a slightly older hotel. It's in a quiet residential area and behind the hotel is a park and a path to walk along the creek. I didn't give it a 5 because they had no pet activities and they did charge for our dog.
2. Spearfish Travelodge

Dirty, run-down, smelly. N/S room stank of stale smoke. Bugs everywhere. Noisy location -- part poor residential/ part industrial. Continental breakfast provided, but didn't partake -- too dismal and dirty. Stay away!!!
