1. Pathetic Excuse for a "hotel"
by Kevin of Dallas, TX
Expected Doubletree, Radisson, Holiday Inn or equivalent, as Hotwire sold us a 3-star room for the weekend. This was nothing like any of them.
Room in poor condition. Worse than the cheapest motels. Tile in bathroom damaged with 3-foot-long cracks in the grout. You could see into the wall from the shower. Headboard of one of the beds unbolted from the wall and hanging off. Housekeeping came while we were out to lean it against the wall again. Old beds, lumpy mattresses, paper-thin towels. Truly pathetic.
This wasn't even a hotel. It was an efficiency apartment complex they were selling as "hotel suites". It looked more like a low-end dorm room damaged after the frat party ended. Seriously pathetic, old and again, not a hotel at all.
Everything was old including the early 80's vintage VHS player. Possibly the largest VCR I've ever seen. Welcome back to the 20th century.
This was my first and most likely my last Hotwire experience. My wife and I feel like we were cheated and duped into pre-paying for a room that was astoundingly far below the 3-star rating that was promised online. The entire Hotwire experience was extremely disappointing as was our stay at Northcross Suites. Our advice is to save some money and upgrade to the Motel 6!
