We were disappointed. We arrived late (midnight) with bad directions from mapquest. We called the hotel twice and the receptionist could not give directions (no landmarks, etc-only to tell us the hotel was on the street we were on but not which way to go on it). At check-in, did not know we had 4 dogs - was going to pull out of car my confirmation slip. Stated I was from TX, when I presented my drivers license when I am from NJ which led me to doubt she knew what she was doing. Stairwells dark and smoke filled. Room not very clean. Will not stay at this hotel again.

My husband and I cannot recommend staying at the Roanoke Ramada. The room's carpet was stained, bed was broken, wall had holes -- and our "non-smoking" room had the stale stench of smoke. Immediately outside of our room were individuals smoking and drinking, loitering in their cars for the afternoon, playing loud music and yelling. While the location is immediately next to a very nice dog-friendly trail with parks, we did not feel safe staying, and turned in our key after 5 minutes. The desk clerk asked no questions. We contacted the Ramada Customer Service number, and have yet to receive a response to our complaint. We instead stayed that evening at the Quality Inn -Tanglewood in Roanoke, which was EXCELLENT in every way.

Please do not stay in this hotel. My mother in law was in critical care in the local hospital and my husband and brother in law rented a room in the hotel to find out the air conditioning units did not work above the 2nd floor and the first floor had so much black mold on the walls they were sick from being in the room for a very short time. There was no manager on duty to fix the situation and the front desk person (Peter) could not do anything about it. They had rented a room for the week, so (Peter) said he had to give them the "not so good rooms", which is rediculious. I called the Ramada complaint department and because the hotel is locally owned and operated they said there was nothing they could do. Also, Peter would not give the money back as they had paid cash for the room. So, I beg of you not to stay in this hotel it has to be the most rude and un-maintained hotel in the eastern half of the US>
