The hotel right in the middle of the best shopping and dining Lake Placid has to offer. For the convenience of our guests the Northwoods Inn has an excellent three-meal restaurant with outdoor dining/ a game room/ and a spacious- comfortable lobby where guest can relax and socialize. The Northwoods Inn is an all suite property including extended stay suites with kitchenettes. Our lakeside rooms offer spectacular views of Mirror Lake and the Adirondack mountains. All other rooms have a balcony where guests can sit outside and enjoy the fresh mountain air of the Adirondack Mountains. All rooms are featured with air conditioning/ cable TV/ in-room phones/ and separate sitting areas.

1. Find another place to stay!

I have been going to Lake Placid a couple times each year for the last 9 years (Sporting events). Our group decided to try Northwoods Inn. The location seemed to make it worthwhile. It was the worst experience we've ever had in Lake Placid. Rooms weren't clean - wallpaper was peeling off the walls - there were holes in the floor - and absolutely no hot water for our February trip. There was no place to park. (There are 90 plus rooms and 30 plus spots). The staff suggests - in a most arrogant tone of voice - that you pay for your parking in the municipal lot. Our group travels together for sports. We have stayed in some very budget hotels as well as some more elegant places. What made Northwoods Inn our WORST STAY EVER was the arrogance of the staff-they know on these sold out weekends there is no where else for us to go. The management was asked for but would not make an appearance. We were given the option to leave. Of course, one in our group did leave - but they kept the money.

2. I agree-it was awful

I agree with everything said in the previous review about the Nothwoods Inn. I would like to add that pet owners should be especially concerned. My daughter and I stayed there last weekend, fortunately, without our dog. We awoke with dozens of flea bites all over our bodies. Needless to say, we left and found another place to stay. The management was neither helpful, nor concerned and they charged us for the nights stay.
