1. great place for dogs
by Becky of Rockford, IL
Upon check in, the staff gave my dog gourmet dog treats and a list of nearby vets, pets sitters, etc. I asked if there was anywhere dogs weren't permitted and I was told no. Although, I used good judgement and didn't taken them into restaurants, tennis courts, pools, etc. Everyone was friendly to us and the only bad thing I can say is that there could be more waste bins around the resort for pet owners to deposite poop bags. Otherwise, it was a great place for me and my dog.
2. Eagle Ridge, a Wonderful Vacation for You and Your Dog!
by Beth of Smith, IL
I was very happy with the service we received here. They even gave us a bag of homemade doggie treats at check-in! As a Yorkie, and still quite young, our pup got lots of positive attention from the guests and staff and he was free to walk with us anywhere except restaurants and the pool (common sense). Be aware, however, that there are many kids of varying ages around the main lodge and grounds at any given time who will want to pet and play, so if your dog can't tolerate that excitement well, you may need to keep them in the room more often. My only wish is that the rooms designated for dogs were on the ground level, but instead they are on the lower level so you have climb the steps to take your pooch for a potty break and I didn't see an elevator nearby for those who can't use stairs. There are lots of nature trails around the scenic lake for more active families, but keep an eye out for where the garbage cans are located, as they can sometimes be harder to find when you have waste to dispose of. Otherwise, we can't wait to go back!
