I prefer not to review the motel but would like pet lovers to know of a wonderful place to walk your dog. Loyds Lake is right at the edge of town. (Get directions from motel or Visitors Center.) A paved walkway surrounds the lake and can be accessed in several places. It is a beautiful place with very few people on the trails. My dog Brandi and I took walks in the evening and the morning, and again enroute home even though we were not staying in Monticello that night. We also found a small lake about 7 miles further out of town. No one was there, so Brandi was free to chase chipmunks to her heart's content.
