My wife and I decided to travel to Destin, Florida since we had not been there for quite a while. We went online to find a good motel. We saw the web page for Inn on Destin Harbor which seemed like what we were looking for.
They advertise that that they are a pet frindley hotel and they have a beach and non-smoking rooms. They advertise on their web site to bring fido along. They don't tell you that it will cost you $75.00 which is non-refundable.
I went to the check-in desk and I was asked if I had a pet and I said yes. The person at the front desk said that I would have to pay $75.00 which would be non-refundable. I reluctantly gave in because I was weary from the long drive there. I was asked if I smoked and I said no. The person at the desk said that if I did, it would be another $75.00, non-refundable of course.
The "beach" that they advertise on their web site is a 10' X 20' sandbox which has enough room for about three deck chairs.
I have checked in to a lot of motels in Florida and this one has got to be the worst. I believe that they misreprent what they have to offer and I will never, EVER stay at this motel again. I will pitch a tent on the beach first.
Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. You will be glad you did.
