1. A Disappointment

I'm sorry to say that our stay at the Howard Johnson Clermont was disappointing. While the front desk staff were very nice, the accommodations were substandard. We found cobwebs in the room, extensive mold in the bathroom, a bathtub encrusted with dirt and the bathroom mirror had such a thick film on it I had to wipe it down with a towel in order to see an image. While the room we booked was listed as having a refrigerator and a microwave, we had to request one which was brought down later and for which we had to pay an extra fee per day. There were untreated/cleaned stains on the bedspreads and our room had not been vacuumed prior to our arrival. And, despite the name, the hotel is actually located on the opposite side of Mineola and not actually in the city of Clermont. Mineola is some 9-10 miles from Clermont proper although it is just inside the town line. I would only rebook there as a last resort if nothing else was available.
