1. Stay of a lifetime

I spent one week at one of the most attractive and comfortable hotels I have encountered in a long long time. They have reserved the 3rd floor for owners with pets and you must use the stairwells at either end of the halls. They do not allow pets in lobby and elevator to protect guests who might be allergic. The added fee was $50/week. The hotel is 3 years old, beautifully appointed with an excellent caring staff and a wide variety of items for continental breakfast. I had a living room/full kitchen plus separate bedroom for less per night (weekly rate) than I had paid at a motel. The hotel is located one block from the Mississippi River/waterfront park with a connecting paved path winding through flower beds and large shade trees. It was a perfect place to walk Toby morning and night for one of the most relaxing and renewing vacations I have ever had. Can hardly wait for a return visit in some future mid-October when the trees are in full color.
