Treats Dogs right
Bill in Reading
We are repeat customers. This place has a great price and treat your dogs right. If you are someone who wants al the modern conviences- this is not your place. If you want a place that has character and blends into the Cape May envirement- this is the place to stay. Some people called it eccentric and charming, and we can agree with that. Definately will come back again.

Great Time
Ann in NYC
We arrived there and was greated by this sweet elderly lady who checked us in. We had the ground floor that was so easy to come and go with our pets. They were so friendly with our pets. There was a great dog beach that we did spend out days at. (However make sure you bring your own water supply). We were there for our anniversary and they made a special breakfast for us on that date. We met the son and had a great evening chat with him. They both just made us feel special and boy did they make over our dog we had with us. She was in 7th heaven with him.

We went down there for a few days. The propritors were great with us. I agree that the place is a little bit excentric, but that is what made it so charming. Our room was clean. If you are coming down expecting a 4 start hotel- this is not the place for you. If your coming down wanting a place that looks charming and treat your pups like royalty- this is the place to be. This place did not charge pet fees like most of the area and the cost was wonderful. It included a great breakfast and we enjoyed our time there

We've stayed here several times over the years because the price is right and we can bring out dogs. It is true that this is not the most modern facility in Cape May, but it's clean enough and certainly affordable. Where else can you bring your dogs for no pet fee? We have never had a problem with rudeness at all. The place can be a little eccentric, but that's not a reason not to return; it's part of the character of the home. We will always consider Highland House when traveling with our pets. Other options are either farther away or, if on the beach, prohibitively pricey.

Rude and Cramped
Barbara in Syracuse
Clean, but cramped and the owners were not very nice. We stayed in the back room with an entry of its own, and a door in the room that leads to a hallway. Since it is a B&B, we dressed early the first morning there and went through the hall door to see where breakfast was being served (we smelled it cooking). Since we had used the private entry, we didn't think going through the hall would be a problem, but the guy there treated us like we were possibly going to take something and the next night and subsequent nights that hall door was locked from the other side. God forbid there was a fire and our only exit was blocked! We never ate the other breakfasts provided there. We couldn't even go into the main guest area unless we went out the private entry and around the house. It wasn't worth it. We are both working professionals, clean, neat and did nothing wrong. Our dog was well-behaved and we cleaned up after him. Other people we know had similar experiences with the owners of this place. Friendly until you're there. Needless to say, we never went back!
