Beautiful and very dog friendly
Lisa

I stayed here as I worked here 20 years ago (don't think it was dog friendly back then) and wanted a nice getaway. Sure, its a very expensive hotel, but it is beautiful and if you can afford it, it is well worth it. There were quite a few dogs and it seemed that we were all in the same area, which was nice as I didn't have to worry about people being uncomfortable around dogs or the occassional bark. Patios were perfect, walking distance to the beach and State Street and low pet fee.

The property welcomed our 90 pound standard poodle. She is use to staying at upscale resorts and she was not disappointed. They have a great doggy menu and many amenities for the pooches. We will defintely be back!

My Parson Russell Terrier, Rocket, was treated as well as, or even better than a human guest! The staff at Fess Parker was very generous with the treats. The room was lovely and had a nice little patio where we could take him for his "business." Very convenient. It was wonderful to have him on a trip with us and not worry about whether he was lonesome. I'm trying to convince my partner to come back in December for his birthday!
Great Place

Nice room on the ground floor for easy access to outside to walk the dog. Beautiful resort across the street from the beach. We will be staying here again.
The Dogs Loved It

We had a great 3 day stay. Very dog friendly. Gift bags for the dogs at the front desk. Very nice personnel and service. My wife ordered chopped sirloin for the dogs from a room service doggy menu. I thought it was over the top but the dogs loved it!! They'd never had room service before.

We recently stayed for a long weekend with 2 dogs. They do not have a weight limit for the dogs, and there is one building dedicated to people with pets. Although I did see pets on the patios of other buildings. No problem with pets being on the furniture, and there is even a pet menu. For the most part the other owners cleaned up after their pets, so walking the dogs was a pleasure. The staff is great, and extremly professional. One thing I learned is next time to bring 2 small barricades since the patios do not have any means of stopping the critters from roaming. Great if your pet is friendly, not great is the neighbor's pet is not. Otherwise you have to keep the pet on a leash. I would definately recommend going there. It is not inexpensive, but considering you are across from the ocean, well worth the cost.
Nice stay for all of us, but a couple of issues
Linda
in San Francisco
We took our 80 lb. lab/mix with us over Thanksgiving and stayed at Fess Parkers. The proximity is excellent to just about everything, and the staff were very nice. My only gripes were two-fold. First, our room looked out onto a huge parking lot that was under construction (with work beginning at 8 a.m.!). They didn't warn us about this issue when we booked nor when we checked in. In fact, no mention of the "under construction" status at all, even though it forced us to park quite far away from our room and was definitely an inconvenience, even though we paid a decent fee each night to park there. And the second issue that irked me was that they charged at least $10 PER LAPTOP to get online access for only 24 hours, which I felt was pretty much a bunch of ... doesn't Holiday Inn offer free wireless even? Seems like they were making money whenever they could. Otherwise, very dog friendly and will go back. But next time I'd make sure there wasn't construction outside our patio and we didn't have to park a half-mile away!

Nice, but watch for extra charges

FPDRSB charged a $10 unexpected over-night parking fee which dissapointed us for such an expensive place (at $300 per night). They also charged us a $40 Pet "Cleaning Fee" which wasn't told to us beforehand either. I'm surprised they didn't charge for water use too! I'd try and find another hotel that's not right next to the train for that amount of money. Other than that, it was clean and nicely decorated, but so is my house.
