Good job

The dog policy stated online was correct. The staff was very friendly and caring to our pets as well as our family. The breakfast was awesome! Although the hotel was old it was clean and the benefits of bringing our pets was absolutely perfect!
Nice View

When I arrived at the hotel for check-in I found that someone had not added the charge on for pets. The hotel manager voided the pet fee for our stay, due to the fact that they could not change the rate given to me at the time of reservation. We found the hotel to be a older hotel, but they had done everything they could to dress the room up. And in this hotel the pets had the best rooms. We were on the first floor at the back of the hotel and the Little Pigeon River was 20-30 ft. from our door. There were also picnic tables outside our door for people to sit and watch the creek. A wonderful view that usually cost extra in other hotels in the area. The only drawback was the dogwalk area, it was rather small and on a slope between the rooms and the creek. The location of the hotel in Pigeon Forge was also very central to almost everything. Also as with many hotels you could not leave the dog in the room unattended even if in a crate. I also noticed that the room walls were so insolated that you could not hear other dogs barking. I have stayed in other hotels and barking was a issue in the past. One last thing they advertise WI-FI but it is only available in the lobby, although I was to get enough of a connection in our room to use my laptop by opening the curtains a bit. Not all rooms will be able to pick up a connection though. Overall I would recommend this hotel to other people traveling with their pets.

The suite was nice, however they turned off all the lights and the television leaving my dog in the dark, which she is not accustomed to at home. Dog policy stated online is correct.

This was my first time using Bring Fido. The check in went well. The rates were less than published rates. Initially I was put in a smoking room. I sure don't remember having requested that! I was given an non-smoking room. The room was clean but somewhat dated. The airconditioning worked well enough but was noisy. Room service didn't come one day and was compted with free breakfast. The staff was friendly and helpful. I have stayed in better and in worse accomodations. Would I stay here again? Yes, but would shop around again before hand.

We enjoyed our stay at the Grand Resort, the pet policy is correct. There is a nice place by the river to walk your dog and I assume all patrons with pets get the rooms with the closest access, we did. All in all a nice experience we felt welcome by all staff and check in was quick and easy. I did call the hotel when we were close to confirm the reservation, I think this always helps in case there is a problem.
Pass on this one!

Check in was a disaster. They could not find our reseervation and I stood in the lobby while 100's of church groups checked in around me. Finally after 30 minutes, they got us checked in. The room was older and the bed was uncomfortable, but they were pet friendly. The area for walking the dogs was steep and small. They claimed your dog must be under 25lbs, but all the dogs I saw were huge. The kids were loud all night long, the walls must be made of paper. You could get pancakes or biscuits and sausage gravy for free if you purchased a drink. Yuck but filling, or you can get the buffet for $5.95, it looked pretty good. The shower went from freezing to boiling at the drop of a hat, so you could not linger. All in all, it was pretty bad and I would not stay there or recommend to anyone else.
Good for what you pay for

The Grand Resort Hotel and Convention Center in Pigeon Forge, TN was just OK. I have definitely seen and stayed in worse hotels, but I wasn't expecting it to be the nicest hotel ever because of the price we paid for the room, as well as their pet policy.
It's definitely a nice place to stay at for one or two nights with your pets though. The bed was very comfortable, and my pups seemed to enjoy it. It's also located right on the river, so there is a nice area to walk your dogs to go potty.
All in all, I rate this hotel a 3 because it wasn't the nicest hotel in the world, but it could definitely of been worse. The dogs were welcomed and only got compliments from other guests who saw them.
What a nightmare!

Where do I begin...We arrive at the hotel and it looks okay from the outside. I go in and there is a nice water fall in the center of the hotel so I think okay this may be an okay place. I wait for about 10 minutes and then I tell them my name and they give me my total which is about $40.00 more than what I had received online. I had also made the effort of calling the day before just to make sure I was getting the same price in which they said I was but that was no longer the case. I asked that it be removed and they refused. The clerk gave me the option to only stay one night but I decided to just pay and deal with it. I get my keys and drive around to my room in which I thought would be in front of the little pigeon river...I was wrong again. I had a nice beautiful view of the parking lot. I walk into my room and the beds look like someone had just came in and jumped on them before I got there. They were lumpy, the room was dark and Drury and the remote was missing the back. It wasn't even good enough for my dog to stay in. I immediately went back to the front desk and asked for my money back for the 2nd night in which I was denied due to no refunds, even though I had just paid cash about 5 minutes prior. She offered to transfer me to the Smoky Shadows hotel but said the room would be the same. I was very upset so she finally called her manager...talked rudely about me in front of my face and then came back to me with two options. One was that they would remove the pet fees and give me the price that I had online if I stayed with them or I could pay 20.00 extra to stay in a suite in the new tower at the smoky shadows hotel. So I quickly agreed to the smoky shadows hotel. It ended up being so nice and spacious. The staff were very friendly and I would probably go back there. I also ran into many other guests who were also transferred from the Grand Resort Hotel. I am thankful that I was not transferred to a regular room at the smoky shadows since they looked worse than the rooms at the grand resort, but the tower is really nice and worth the money. They did come in and turn the tv off a few times while I left my dog in the room and I never had to sign a pet policy at either place so I am not sure what it is at either place. If you are considering the grand resort...think again! Go somewhere else.
NEVER AGAIN

This is an old hotel and it shows. The staff is rude and uncaring. Our bathroom ceiling leaked profusely. God only knows where the water came from. They promised to fix it but never did. We ran out of hot water and lost power to half our room. We were offered another room at midnight, 24 hours after first reporting the problem. The night staff were the worst, saying I can't help you and the leak cannot be fixed. The free breakfast is NOT free. I called the manager for 2 days after checking out and she will not take my calls or return calls. This is a HORRIBLE place and I will NEVER return. Money wasted, they charged $1.50 a day to use a phone that was only used to complain.
