Speak! St. Louis Speak! St. Louis and Speak! for the Unspoken are both 501(c)3 not-for-profit, foster-based rescues passionate about helping dogs, specifically those born with vision and hearing impairments as a result of merle to merle breeding. Most of the animals we save are double merles, those born with two copies of the merle gene resulting in disabilities that were completely preventable. Speak! is committed to raising awareness of the preventable impairments and working to educate the public about this unnecessary breeding practice. Speak! also strives to help these special needs dogs live happy, healthy, and normal lives. Our slogans are “We see possibilities, not disabilities!”, and “Special needs and good deeds.” See Details
