  ridiculously long list of “dog rules"

  This restaurant is at best grudgingly dog-tolerant. The “dog friendly” seating is a crowded row of tables on the curb, basically in the street. Posted on each table is a laminated card with a ridiculously long list of “dog rules,” and the staff treated us like second-class citizens. The food was good, but not spectacular. There are plenty of other places with nicer patio seating that actually welcome dogs—if you want to relax and enjoy your meal, go elsewhere.

  Great location

  Right on St Armands circle which is fun to walk with our dog and food at Columbia is delicious - 1905 salad and Sangria! Yum!

  Excellent restaurant, excellent food, and in a beautiful location!!!

  We went here while visiting family in Florida during the Christmas holidays. Hands down thee place to go eat while in the Saint Armand's/Longboat Key/Lido Beach area! Hostess quickly seated us outside along the sidewalk patio tables under umbrellas on a nice sunny day. Plenty of room for the dogs to lay next to our chairs. The menu had all the classic Cuban entrees that you could want. So many choices that I had a hard time trying to decide what to order for lunch. We ended up getting the fried Calamari and the Empanadas De Picadillo for appetizers, and the wife got a salad and I ordered the Ropa Vieja lunch plate. All the food was flavorful and excellent! Cooked perfectly. Service was excellent. Will definitely come back here again and again!!! There is a small gift shop inside the restaurant where you can buy some small unique gift items, knick knacks, and even some Columbia brand hot sauce.

  Great Experience!

  The food here is always awesome. You have to sit on the sidewalk with your pup, but the waiter came to the table with waters for the people and the pup immediately! They were very friendly with him. You simply cannot beat their Cuban sandwich!

  the food was wonderful. My dog and I felt super comfortable. Our server (Eduardo) was incredible at his job.

  avoid this restaurant

  Although we love this restaurant for people, it is the worst for pets. Our table was on the corner of a street, smelled like sewage, had trash under the table, with a wait for any water. Thank goodness we had our own bowl. Theirs was dirty under a bush with debris in it. We also had to send 2 dinners back because they were overcooked.

  Even in season on a Saturday night we got a table with the dogs outside. Water for the doggies and black bean soup for us!!!
