    Better last year

Visited in 2021- wonderful experience. This year our waiter was rude. Yellow jackets were swarming and the staff just kept saying- they're just bees - they won't hurt you. Avoid this. There is a very nice dog friend restaurant on the strip. Boo 2 cats- so disappointed

    Beautiful!

This place is so nice for our dog, staff was so friendly and the deck was shady and cool. Amazing food and service.

    Solid choice

The food was amazing, particularly the biscuits! The deck was dog-friendly, but it was clear that some of the staff were afraid of dogs and no one acknowledged our dog or offered water.

    Super Friendly

We read all the mixed reviews and we weren’t sure what to expect but I had eaten here on a prior trip without the dogs and loved the food. We have two Bernese Mountain Dogs and the sun decided to come out so they seated us up on the deck under an umbrella!! They provided a giant pitcher of water for the boys and let us know that they are very happy to step over them if they lay down in the way.

The food was everything I remember. I had the farmers breakfast and it was amazing. The biscuits are incredible. My fiancé had the lobster benedict and said it was one of the best he’s had!

I would highly recommend going. We got there around 11a and were seated right away but we were ready to wait if needed.

Not The Best, But Far From the Worst

We went in the middle of a rainstorm around closing time with our 85 lb pittie/st Bernard mix. They didn't seem thrilled but escorted us to a table by the railing and asked if our dog would be okay with people walking by. When we assured her that our girl would be okay, we sat and were promptly met by a lovely, enthusiastic server. Our food came quickly and all was well. The other patrons with their dog complimented us as well. It was a 50/50 split as far as friendly staff was concerned, but we'd go back!

    It Works

Food and service were fine. Tables on grass since dogs cannot be within building but absolutely no issue on a nice day and dogs enjoy extra room.

    Just Okay...

Like most pet owners you see the word dog friendly and immediately get excited. Just a warning, there are only two dog friendly tables that are outside in the grassy area away from the building and deck area(there was a new outdoor mat down). The service wasn’t that great. We were very rudely pointed to the dog tables and practically ignored. Another heads up the dog tables were practically on top of each other so if your dog has problems be careful.

    Delicious breakfast!

We unfortunately couldn't bring our dog in because it was raining but the breakfast here was delicious! And the staff is super friendly. Highly recommend!

    superb menu

Best of all: hey do breakfast til 1:00 pm. Had great seafood omelettes and the blueberry pancakes were wonderful.
They’re a little off of the main drag so some walking but worth it. Service was wonderful and you can bring your dog.

    Went twice it so nice!

Went on a recommendation from a waitress at another dog friendly restaurant as a Bar Harbor iconic breakfast location. Other reviews are correct on the one location available but we never had a problem both mornings (off season 9/16). They brought our dog water and were extremely friendly and even brought us some dry toast for our dog. On our second visit they were more busy, understandable, and they hostess saw us in line and called us out and told us to go ahead back to our table again, in front of the other guests (they did not have dogs). The food was a solid 4 out of 5 but the lobster omelet was out of this world! I will go back for sure, I just hope the table isn't already taken!!

    One Great Table

The other reviews are accurate - there appears to be only one dog-friendly table. That said, it is right out front with an umbrella and water bowl, perfect for pups. And since it's right out front, you can see if it's occupied or not. We got there around 7:30AM after watching the sunrise on Cadillac Mtn. It was delicious and the service was great!

we're not friendly to my pup

We had a great experience here years ago (pre-pup) so we walked a long way out of our way for a great breakfast.... There were some clouds in the sky, but nothing scary.... We were told by the hostess that they only have one one table that's 'dog friendly' and they weren't using it that day because it COULD rain. So frustrating. Wish I could give zero bones!

    timing

I saw the previous reviews and still decided to come with the dog. We were sat right away and our service was great. I think it was due to timing as we arrived at 7:30am and there was a wait at all.

i wish i could give this a NO bones rating

Should have listened to the prior review... but figured we'd give it a try. I guess because it was just me and the dog they figured it wasn't worth the check amount to provide me with service. little do they know we are hear on a family reunion and I told all 14 of us to avoid this place like the plague. 2 cats missed out on a good check and tip by ignoring me and my dog and leaving us sit there and wait, and almost start to pray for a glass of water.

    no service means lost business

was quickly seated on a rickety iron table and chair set on uneven ground in the front yard of the restaurant ...and we waited ...and waited ...and after 15minutes we left. and what made it worsr was seeing people in line get seated and have drinks in hand before we even saw a waitress. skip this place!
