Entry Requirements
Complete the following entry requirements to travel to Finland with your pet:
- Pets must be fitted with a microchip for identification.
- Four-legged visitors also require a valid rabies vaccination, administered after the minimum age of 12 weeks.
- Dogs require deworming treatment against the Echinococcus-tapeworm at least one, at most five days before entry into Finland.
- An official veterinarian must issue the pet an EU-model health certificate in English, Finnish, or Swedish.
- A certified copy of the original identification and vaccination details, e.g. pet passport of third country or vaccination certificate of third country.
- You must sign a declaration of non-commercial movement.
- If you are traveling by plane, the only port of entry allowed is the Helsinki-Vantaa airport. Inspections can only take place before 3 p.m. and never on weekends.
Quarantine Information
Pets being transported into Finland do not need to be quarantined if they meet all the necessary requirements listed above.
