    Nasty

There are only two parks in Wilmington and this one is filled with feces, urine and never ever cleaned. there is no grass, no pools and when it’s 95 with 85% humidity, no shade either. owners do not obey rules, lots of aggressive dogs and fights.
shame on Wilmington for spending no money at all on dog parks.
there’s literally no where dogs can run free.

    Not a fan

I went just a few days ago and wasn’t impressed. No shade at all for people. It is a very big dog park, but no kiddie pools for the dogs. I prefer empie park honestly.

Large Spacious Good Owner And Pups

I was visiting the area and came by to get my pups some run time
Large area, sandy ground .. different footing for the pups if not used to running on sand
7 dogs there while I was there all owners attentive and nice pups

    Beware

Have been to this dog park twice and have left twice because of aggressive behavior of dogs and people. Will not go back.

    Dog Fights & Bad Owners

We brought our pups here one time since this park is closer to us.. and it's full of dog fights and owners who do not care or watch after their dogs. Our little one was bullied pretty badly until I was forced to step in since the owner was oblivious. I figured it was a bad day so I came back again.. the same thing happened. Too many dogs, too many irresponsible owners, too much aggression.

    Good park

I’ve been going to this park for about a year now, and I’ve never had a problem with dogs fighting. There is a lot of owners that don’t pick up after their dog which results in some poop here and there. I prefer this park over the other Wilmington parks because there’s always a lot of dogs there for my dog to play with.

    Good Park

I have been to both the small and large dog parks about 15 times over the last few months. So far, I have not seen any fights during my visits. The park has water stations which is nice and there are a few places for humans to sit. There's almost always a few dogs there. The entire park is sand which leaves your feet really dirty if you wear sandals or flip flops. Overall I think it's a great park.

    Never Again

Between the ridiculous amount of poop everywhere and dog fights I will never go again. My biggest regret is not reading more reviews before going. The first two reviews are so misleading.

    Dog Dangerous

I ALWAYS read rules when I take rookie to a dog park. Well I took him to a park in Wilmington and there was a big rule sign and I read the whole thing and there was a rule regarding vicious and biting dogs with a number to report said incidents to, I'm like good. Well fast forward a guy comes in with a pup with a giant muzzle on and she's frantically trying to get out. So I look at the guy and say hey what's with the muzzle and he says it's because she licks too much and other dogs don't like it. Well, all of us said our dogs were mild mannered and wouldn't care so he takes it off but it's like chained clipped and buckled on so I get worried. You see where this is going so she attacks the hell out of this dog like crying yelping attack. I'm practically in tears because all I can think about is what if that was rookie. The guy moves her to a different area, the small dog side, and she repeats. Obviously I call the number sit through a detailed message of what constitutes an attack and get to an animal control officer for new Hanover county operator who says dog parks don't apply. The posted number to call didn't apply. Also there were two dogs that had been at the park from the time we got there so I looked at the only other guy that'd been there as long as us and said hey is this one yours and he says no but people drop their dogs off and do other things so I resigned to stay there and finally this woman shows up with another pup. She had not been there the entire time we were there. I was about to take the dog to be scanned for a microchip.

    Nice Dogs When We Visited

We made our visit on 6/10/14. All the dogs were well behaved and the owners took responsibility for their dogs. One thing the park needs more is places for the humans to sit. Suggest bringing your own lawn chair.

    Dog Fights

I took my goldenddodle there for the first time and thank goodness we were in the small dog side because in the hour that we were there, 5 dog fights broke out. A pit bull was the instigator , and he was intact!!!! His own did not seem to care, as he was too busy socializing with the other owners (also not paying attention). I talked to someone on our side of the park and they said its always the same dogs that start the fights. Dangerous dogs and dumb owners. No thanks!!

    Owners Pick up Your Poo

Dogs were well behaved and fun for my dogs - but owners were happy to let their dogs poo and leave the poo laying there for other dogs to run in =GROSS. I come from an area that we call attention to that sort of "ish" but here it seems everyone literally looked the other way. Next time I'm going to have to break them in to the follow the rules approach of policing them selves and citizens public announcements. Hello! Is that YOUR dog? He just crapped! Do you need a bag to pick it up ??? Here take one of mine! :)

    Bad Owners= bad dogs=bad park

I would have given one bone, but it's nice that there are more dog parks opening.
The reason to bring your dog to a dog park is not so that you can stand around and talk and let your dogs run wild. My dog was attacked by another, and his owner was too busy socializing to even notice. There are dog feces strewn around the back of the park. Dogs were running wild, and their owners weren't obeying park rules. Never again.

    Good facility

Great Park. No sand spurs for my dog's paws here and plenty of friendly dogs, trees, and people to sniff.

    Beware

Aggressive dogs that attack and owners who do not care. Stay away unless you like to see dog fights.

    Best Dog Park in town

I'm a huge fan of this dog park, compared to the others in town. This is the only one that isn't completely sand. There is actually some grass, which makes it much easier for the humans to walk around. I've also found the people are friendlier and actually socialize while thier furry friends have some fun!

Do not use this park! People do not clean their pest waste and my dog contracted Giardia there the first time we went!

    Nice park, bad dogs

The park seemed nice but my little dog was attacked by pit bulls and the owners did little to control them and blamed my dog for the unprovoked attack.

    Hugh McRae

Visited this dog park on a Friday mid afternoon. There are separate sections for small and large dogs. There is a water spigot in the large dog section, so bring a water bowl if you have a small dog. This is a very new and very nice facility complete with walking trails outside the off leash area. It's located right off College Rd so is very easy to find.
