- LizJun. 9, 2022Our dogs had a blast
We had been cooped up in the truck for ten hours the day before so we brought them to Daffin Park to stretch their legs. There were several dogs there but they all just did their own thing. Our smooth Border Collie would herd all the dogs she could into a circle-when one got out of line, she would chase it back. Our BMD mainly just laid nearby unless the BC needed him for backup. :). They loved it & we would definitely go back.
- SusanDec. 20, 2021Beautiful, big park.
we went at about 3 in the afternoon on a Monday. there were about a dozen people there. it’s a big beautiful park! The other patrons were really nice and watched over their dogs.
- MelanieJun. 22, 2021It was like being in the forest!
Me and my dad are visiting savannah and we were looking for the perfect place for my boy to run around and play.
The trees were everywhere. It was so nice. The people were also friendly. I met a lot of regulars.
The only complaint I have is that there is a lot of mud by the water areas. My dog hates water so no problem but his feet got so muddy when he was trying to drink some water.
Other than that it was such a nice time. The trees give a lot of shade so it helps with the heat.
- JessicaOct. 18, 2020Surprisingly big dog park
Went to savannah for the weekend with my dog and he loved this park. There's so much room for him to run around. They have water and buckets available. Not a lot of grass but it's shaded. Best city park I've ever been to.
- CathyApr. 14, 2020Great Park
We stopped on here twice, on our way south and north. Such a large shady park which was perfect for our two malamutes to really stretch their legs before heading back out on the road. Local have a great gem here

Great Dog Park for a traveling pup break & person stretch! Three dog areas, Large, small & third for service, senior or shy doggies. The large dog area is spacious with lots of trees & shade! So many trees that I was worried a pup may run into one. Many benches too. Supplies plenty of water & waste bags! Small parking lot so that could be an issue? I didnt see a near by bathroom but Im not to say that there isnt one. 4 bones instead of 5 because the pet parents were mostly playing on their phones not watching or cleaning up after their pup. Careful where you step. I posted a few pics below
- PamelaDec. 6, 2019Cool park for pups and people
We were recently traveling through Savannah, on the final leg of our 3 week cross country trip with our Aussie and Sheltie.
Over 20+ dogs were running and playing, and welcomed our pups into the pack with ease. The folks are super nice here too. Very nice shade with pine tree canopy. Dog washing stations also available. Lots of fun! - KathyNov. 10, 2019Be mindful
Nice park but there where a few aggressive dogs with owners who really didnt mind there dogs. If not careful someone will be leaving with a injured or dead fur baby. Part could be great if certain breed owners would be more mindful.
- NancySep. 1, 2019Aggressive dogs
Could be a great park, but my Airedale was attacked by 3 pit bulls (different owners). He held his own and wasn't injured, but I will definitely not bring him back. Awful!!!!
- AmyMay. 4, 2019A Pleasant Surprise
We were traveling through the Savannah area and was looking for a place to run the dogs and give them a break from the car. Thanks to Bring Fido, we found this dog park and had a great time. It was really pretty with all the trees. The ground is basically all sand.
- TravisJul. 16, 2018Great park, alright owners
The parks space itself is great lots of shade and water sources for dogs. There were a group of kids with a poorly trained pitbull in the park, not aggressive, just unresponsive to their commands and a problem with humping. Fortunately my mastiff is well practiced at handing the behavior and there was no incidents. Would recommend a visit to this park!

We were in Savannah during the highly unusual snow and ice storm. After several days of being cooped up, our three dogs were getting cranky. We took them to Daffin Park and they had a blast! Lots of other dogs despite the 35 degree weather, and they ran and chased and played until they were worn out and we were frozen. We plan a return trip before we leave Savannah.
- StephanieMore than a year agoRegulars think they own the park
This park had potential to be great but there are a few regulars that think they own the place. One particular group brings their under 25 lb dog into the large dog side. And then they get mad when the big dogs bowl theirs over when playing. Their little precious also LOVES to pick fights with the big dogs and don't you dare suggest that they actually take him/her to the little dog side where it belongs. Apparently that is unlawful doggie segregation. They don't get that there is a size limit for the safety of the dogs. They also bring their children (not an issue in itself) and they think it is a good idea to let the kids eat hamburgers inside the park with all the big dogs. They then get upset and angry when the kids are mobbed by dogs begging for food. And heaven forbid a dog actually try to get that food. They will beat your dog. They tired that one time with my dog (the kid actually handed the burger to my dog) and I threatened to call the cops.
Anyway this is the worst of the group if regulars but there are many more like them. The type that think they can dictate to you where you are allowed to sit or how you play with your own dog. I would love to be able to bring both my large dogs here to play as it is a nice park but until the city actually does something about the dog owners themselves, I can't.
- AnnMore than a year agoAggressive Dogs
First time visit was mixed...Met several wonderful pet owners with friendly dogs..BUT...there were some very aggressive dogs too. Would not recommend this park unless your dog can handle it's own with aggressive dogs .
- LocalMore than a year agoGreat Park!
This is a wonderful dog park! I must admit I haven't been to a lot of dog parks but I hear from others that this one is bigger, with more shade than many other dog parks. I do want to warn people that this city DOES USE ROUND UP POISON in its parks, including the dog park at Herty Pines. So beware and maybe check with the Parks Dept. for a schedule of spraying. - MargoMore than a year agoWish we had THIS dog park at home
We had the best time bringing our dog to this park. We were out-of-towners and there were dozens of dogs there! We all had a blast.
- LibbyMore than a year agoDogs packed, people ignoring them
Our Irish Wolfhound was stalked and attacked while doggie parents made out, read books, totally ignored their dogs' behaviors. We were still on the leash at that point. It did not end well for the American Bull Dog that started it all. Fortunately the pit bulls involved, nor my dog, were injured. The sad part, the Bull dog owners never moved, even after someone else delivered their bloody dog to them.
- JamieMore than a year agoIt's a DOG park
Dogs play. Dogs bite. Dogs hump. The problem is neither the dogs nor the park but the over protective pet parents. Bad vibes but a REALLY nice park. Just don't let the regulars talk your ear off about how terrible this dog and that dog is.

I would like to know if Daffin Park would allow a small dog party? Its my baby's 1st year birthday next month and I'd like to have alittle soothing fir hey and her friends. If not Daffin dies anyone know a place I could?
- SidMore than a year agoTHE BEST
I travel with my dog a great deal and this is the best dog park I've ever been in. Unlike most dog parks that are open spaces with grass or lots of wood chips to absorb the rain (or are just muddy pits), this park is packed with trees and plenty of shade, as well as lots of great folks and friendly dogs. I've been here many times and have never encountered a dog that wasn't well managed. If you can't get to the beach or some other secluded area to walk and exercise your dog, this is the place to go.
- KatMore than a year agogood park, bad owners
I took my dog here for the first time the other day. The park is nice and big, with lots of shade. Unfortunately, there were a couple of dogs there that had been poorly trained. Two dogs continuously chased my dog around humping him, while the owners just stood and watched without saying anything or reprimanding their dogs. Also, one lady brought her dog and he was running around biting other dogs... Her dog tried to start a fight with my dog, she pulled the dog back, and before she left, she said today has been a good day because the dog didn't bite anyone... GREAT?! How comforting?! Not sure if I'll be back here. It's sad, because it has so much potential to be a good park.
- AlisonMore than a year agohuge dog park
Lots of trees, shade, dogs, and space! Separate section for small and large dogs, and another section for training. Several watering stations. Highly recommended.
- CassMore than a year agoGreat Park!
I took my dog to the Daffin Dog Park (aka Herty Pines Dog Park) today to get rid of her travel jitters. It was a beautiful spot - nice and shady with lots of space to run around. There were picnic tables, dog washing stations, poop bags/trash, and water for the pups.
The people who were there (around 1pm) were great.
There was a sizeable puddle from the rain last night, which the dogs loved, but as owners we were less than pleased!
I'll definitely take Kima there again tomorrow before we leave town.
- ConnieMore than a year agoVERY poor dog ownership
This park is actually very nice. It is the people that bring their dogs to this dog park that are the problem. I watched as three dogs continued to hump one dog. The dog that was being humped tried to get away from these dogs but could not and she was behaving herself. All while several dog owners just stood there watching and NEVER corrected the problem. If you are going to visit a open dog park then train your dog accordingly. I stood outside the fence watching this all take place and decided NOT to take my dog into the park. Because if they tried it with my dog she would give them a warning then snap if they tried it again. So for everyone's safety I thought it best not to go into the park. These stupid and idiot dog owners are giving this dog park a very bad name. I go to Beasley Dog Park on S. Broad St. atleast three times a day when I am in town. Everyone is very nice, minds their own dogs and are friendly. Though some owners could be more responsible cleaning up the poop after their dogs. But overall though it is small it is very nice, has great pet owners and friendly dog owners. To city officials: it's time to monitor this park for lazy and idiotic owners who fail to train their dogs properly. Then these owners should not be allowed to return with their dogs. These owners are allowing their behavior to ruin a wonderful and nice park.
- WillieMore than a year agoBe more responsible
When this park opened it was great. We have 2 dobermans that love to run and play, but lately there has been a rash of bit bull attacks, and the owners just sit back and watch. Just be cautious when bringing your dogs and keep a look out for owners that are not responsible. Just saying..

- KristinMore than a year agoHuge fenced in park
Just got out of the car from a 12 hour drive with our 10 month old puppy so we needed to get some energy out of him and this was the perfect place. We brought water but it wasn’t needed because they had water fountains and a little mini plastic pool. Huge dog park with every size dog you could imagine. My puppy loved it. The place was shaded with trees and had a few picnic tables. It’s not a grass park, more of sand. People were very nice and they seemed to all be watching their own dogs and not letting them run unsupervised
- PatrickMore than a year agoGreat Park!
Savannah is a dog lover's city. This is a really nice dog park. Plenty of shade for our hot Savannah summers (although with all of the trees the dogs sometimes get slammed into the trunks as they run and wrestle which can be a bit unnerving). There are two main spaces (under 25 pounds/over 25 pounds) and another small open fenced area that people use for playing fetch. There's plenty of water, bags, disposal stations, picnic tables, and a couple of large tubs they fill up in the summer for the dogs to soak in. The ground is dirt with pine straw on top. It can get muddy when it rains. I take our medium sized puppy here several times a week. I don't like to go on the weekends or late in the day because it can be very crowded and kind of chaotic. I usually go in the mornings so I see the same people and dogs all the time. It's a pretty good mix of dogs and owners. Haven't met anybody I found problematic. Of course you have the occasional dog fight and humping (it happens at all dog parks), but I've found everybody to be very proactive about controlling their dogs when things like this happen. Of course you find a pile of poo that hasn't been picked up from time to time. Sometimes people miss that their dogs have gone. Again it happens, but I find most people I meet there to be very responsible. Savannah has a lot of Pit and other Bull mixes (most people here seem to get their dogs as rescues or off the streets), so if you have an aversion to this breed (as some people do), you're not going like the place much. Generally there's a good mix of breeds.
- JessicaMore than a year agoAwesome dog park
We bring our 1 year old boxer here almost every weekend and she loves it! The people and their pets are nice and friendly. Daffin is a great place to bring your dog to get out some energy and get to interact with other dogs and humans!!

Great park but some people don't watch there dogs. Someone's dog would not stop humping my dog and stalking her. She is spayed so no reason for it. On a different day a day brought several dogs and everyone was like "crap it's that guy with his mean dogs". Sure enough one of his dogs kept picking on dogs. He left mine along till I had it on a leash leaving and it came up trying to pick on my dog.
Some days I go its great but some days there's stupid people there...
- AmandaMore than a year agogood park but some bad dogs
Love the park...have taken my dog a few times now.
- MichelleMore than a year agoNice, but small
The small dog area is SO much smaller than the large dog space. I wouldn't mind taking my 2 small breeds into the large dog section, but once, we met with a girl who's large dog got attacked and the owner of the other dog seemed to be careless. I don't want to risk it. The park has tons of trees (great for shade, but not for dogs who love to run). A few picnic tables and a doggie clean up station. There is a pool and a few dishes for water and a water hose. There is really no grass, only dirt, so expect them to get dusty - no big deal to us. Some patrons seem to be a little stuck up, seems silly to me, but whatever. Overall, we have went to this park because the dogs have a good time and there are usually a few pups to play around with. We have never went to another dog park, so cannot tell you if this one is the best, but it's nice for a sunny afternoon.
- LizMore than a year agoBad owners make bad dogs
This park is great. I love the shade, especially in the hot summer months, and there is plenty of space for the dogs so they aren't all crammed in together. For the most part the people are nice, but there are a few that cause this park to lose a few stars.
The biggest issue is that people don't own up to the fact that their dog should NOT be at a dog park. My dog minds his own business, walks around, sniffs, lounges, doesn't cause problems, so I bring him. Other people don't get that their dog is a trouble-maker, with bad social skills that ruins the visit for everyone else. Highly recommend you have some sort of experience or knowledge of how to break up a dog fight before you go to this park.
- Ticked off from rude ownerMore than a year agoTo many rude people
I recently found this park thanks to this site. The dog park Outside very large compare to some here when I try toe get the small dog area wih one medium sz dog other small I was confront by a small dog owner stating or rather barking like her little dog, that I could not bring my med sz dog in since her dog "attacks big dogs". Granted there is small sign that says under 25lbs but I also believe that owners should control their dogs and know that you should correct your dog and no let them think its ok to start fights or "attack" other dogs. Because of this owner my dogs & I left. I just wanted them to enjoy the vacation too
- LizMore than a year agoNice place but....
This is a nice place to take your dogs however if they have some skin disease like mange or bugs just crawling all over them please keep them home.
- DubchikaMore than a year agoBest Dog Park in Savannah (so far)
Lots of trees that provide shade. Small and big dog areas. It's best to come to the park in the mornings because there are tons of dogs that arrive in the evenings which (I hear) causes trouble/fights. They have kitty pools for the dogs during the hot summer months. 1 thing I hope they will develop is a rinsing off area when the dogs get dirty but other than that, it's a spacious dog park with plenty of benches! Also, the trash needs to be taken out more often... It's that popular, I guess! My siberian husky loves coming to daffin. Beasley isn't bad either! Just too much sand, lol.

Hi Everyone, well after hearing of this park after its opened we finally went to check Daffin Dog Park out and LOVED IT! We have 2 Australian Shepards and they had a great time. The "Pups" were all running around and Owners were all talking with one another....It was great to see everyone enjoying themselves and having a good time. Everyone was friendly, you have a couple of tables to sit at but it was overall GREAT! We'll be back...Just wish they would build something closer to Pooler,GA.
Thanks for this great space - DinaMore than a year agoGreat park for pups and people too!
I just visited this park for the first time and there is plenty of shade, plenty of water and enough space to get some good running in for exercise. There actually are so many trees, I had trouble throwing the frisbee, but really happy to find a place my Jazmin can play at!
- KristiMore than a year agoGreat place for bully breeds
I take both my Staffordshire Terrier and my LH Dachshund to this park. It is great! Most of the dogs get along pretty well and there are usually a variety of dogs for your dog to play with. The only down side is that it is mostly sand and dirt so my Staffy gets filthy when she plays but I just rinse her off with the hose they have there and we're good to go! The people are also generally nice as well and most seems to keep control of their own dogs.
- Mike, Max, and BellaMore than a year agoNot bad
First time at this park, we've been to dog parks all over the country and this park ain't to bad. The entire park is shaded by pines and there is plenty of water available. The enterances are kinda small,it was atight fit for me and my two Boxers. Some of the dogs were overly aggressive and owners rude, not controlling their dogs and blaming the aggressiveness of their dogs on others.
- RudyMore than a year agoGREAT PLACE FOR SMALL DOGS
My dog is scared of other dogs since he was attacked when he was a puppy. Today he went to this wonderful park and had such a great time. He made new friends and will continue to visit every time we're in Savannah. Thanks for making a safe park for our little dogs!

It's nice to have a safe place for my little dogs to run around and make friends.
- TinaMore than a year agoTwo parks in One Space
This park has two separate, yet adjacent parks, one for over 25 lbs & a smaller one for under 25. My JRKs prefer the "Big Dog" park, but the option is nice. There is even a long run enclosure for playing fetch with a dog that doesn't enjoy the social vibe.
