  Lovely park!

  this park is well maintained and very large. I wish there had been some other dogs there for mine to play with but regardless, it was really a great quick side trip out of our camper van!

  Great Park

  Great Park for hiking and bringing the family. Picnic tables, jungle gyms, skate parks, but the best are the trails. Clean and well maintained. I love bringing my dog for walks here. The brook is just pretty and the trails are gorgeous in the summer and fall.

  where do ii find a trail map?

  i have googled every keyword and have come up with nothing as far as trail maps of the area, thank you in advance.

  Beautiful park and great trail

  Peterson Park was very clean and was not at all crowded; plenty of parking. We then walked behind the skate park to the entrance to the Mattatuck Trail. It was very easy to follow the blue dots on the trees throughout the trail. My dog and I both loved the hike and she loved jumping into the river to cool off during our 7 mile hike. There is a sign at the beginning of the trail which states that it is 1.8 miles to the first "checkpoint" and 3.5 miles to the next.
