    Great for walking

My pup Mata and I are long time road worriers who walk daily and seek out places to run free, play ball and have a water feature. We travel a lot and this awesome park is near my parents home in southern coastal Jersey. We have been going here daily for the last several weeks of visiting and I find it to be a fantastic place to walk. The paths are wide and the terrain extremely flat. This is great for the whole family, from stroller moms, kids of all ages, runners and folks with possible walking troubles. My older folks love it for that reason and a place to walk with grandkids. All the trails are mostly tree covered so it’s perfect for sunny warm days too. There are several bogs, creeks and streams that my pup pal loves to jump into for a cool down or sip some water. Yes there are ticks, and welcome to the east coast. I do not give my dog tic meds and we have been just fine. I find an occasional one on her from time to time but that is what happens when you adventure outdoors into the forest. Yet the trails are super wide so this does help a lot, compared to similar places in the area. Highly recommended, glad it’s here and will continue to visit.

It is a beautiful place but, although the walks are scenic and lovely, the ticks are just too much. This is so during the winter, as well. The last walk last December, resulted in an infected tick removed from my leg and weeks of antibiotics and blood tests. My pup had four crawling on her. No more walks there.

Beautiful place but ticks galore. I wouldn't go back again. Winter, with snow on the ground, might not be a problem, but there are better, safer places to go with your pet.
