    Lots of trees and hiking

My 2 year old golden retriever and I went hiking for the first time. We started with the 3 mile loop on Paw Paw trail, which turned into a 2 hour trip because we kept detouring on the overlooks.
After Paw paw trail, we parked near Camp #2 and did the 4.2 mile Gilbert Gaul trail. There, we saw 6 large deers over 3 sitings. Hold on to your dogs! Mine wanted to run like a deer after them. It was a little confusing when we approached the cabins and the trail seemed to disappear a little, and took a wrong turn there.
    Overall, lots of fun!

    Great Dog Friendly Trails

We did the Gilbert Gaul Trail and it was perfect for our energetic shepherd mix. 4.1 miles round trip with beautiful lake views.
