    Take a walk with your pup amidst the prop buildings of an old movie town at Paramount Ranch in Agoura Hills, CA. Used as the set of "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman" along with many other films and shows, the Paramount Ranch trails and prop town are a fun area to explore with your leashed dog. Cross the bridge to get to the "Western Town." All trailheads extend from the Western Town, except the trail that goes toward Mulholland Highway. Visit Website

      Smaller than expected.

      Pros: Very dog-friendly. Free parking and admission. Good bathrooms and water fountains everywhere. Cons: Not really that much to see. There are a handful of facades and that's about it. Most don't even make an interesting photo because they're not dressed. The hiking trail behind the ranch goes into the hills and is a bit scrubby and horse poopy but ultimately leads to a decent overlook. The other hiking trail by the stagnant creek is buggy and uninteresting. Beware the dry grasses which can get stuck in your dog's windpipe, leading to a very expensive vet bill. All the grass in the field is this type. It also gets in your shoes and socks and is quite uncomfortable. Overall, a decent and easy hike for a few hours.

      Old West Fun!

      I discovered this park after being turned away from Malibu Creek which apparently doesn't allow dogs. I was very happy with the trails, not too easy, not to hard. My pooch really enjoyed the old west set. It was really neat!
