    Tour Of Savannah

We loved this tour! Our guide was insanely knowledgeable about Savannah and it’s history. He tossed in fun facts and had a great sense of humor. 100% recommend!

    Fascinating tour-Great For Pups

Our tour guide was fantastic. He made the history of the city come alive. Honestly, even though it was a “dog” tour, I would have enjoyed it without our dog. Our dog had a blast and enjoyed sniffing out all of the sites, but we really enjoyed the experience too.

    Really Special

I can’t recommend this highly enough. Eric is so knowledgeable and articulate-we learned a lot about Savannah. And he’s sensitive to the dogs on the tour. Our Jack Russell can be headstrong and Eric was so patient with him. And the treats! It was a wonderful couple of hours for all 3 of us.

    Excellent Tour!

We brought our two dogs, Eric our guide had Abby, and another woman brought George. A grand tour with both macro and micro insights from Eric on the places we visited. Thank you!

    Great Your!

Not only was the tour itself great, but the fact that it was dog friendly makes it even better! The tour guide was entertaining and knowledgeable. Our dog loves the complimentary bag of treats that you get at the end. We would definitely go back on this tour next time we visit!

    Historic Dog walking good time!

We did this tour at the end of February 2019.
This is such a great tour! We booked a private tour because our schedule with traveling didn't work well with there two usually timed tours. Eric was a great tour guide! He is very knowledgeable on Savannah's history. I learned so much while walking the beautiful historic downtown streets. All that we learned was very interesting. Our French bulldog loved looking around and sniffing around on the about 2 1/2 hour tour. Our Frenchie also loved the yummy Oliver and Bentley biscuits that we got complimentary at the end of the tour. I would Highly recommend this tour to anyone with a dog or anyone looking to hear Savannah's great history.

    Great Tour For Dogs!

It’s been a month since our tour and I’m afraid I’ve forgotten the names of our tour guide, tour dog, and host, but they were all great! It was a bit cold (January 31st? Cold? Who woulda guessed!), but we had a great tour nonetheless. We really enjoyed the beautiful historic buildings we saw on the tour and the Greyhounds loved the walk (and treats)! I’ll definitely do it again when I’m in Savannah! Hopefully on a nice cool Spring morning!

    Awesome Tour!

We had so much fun bringing our German Shepherd mixes on this tour. Learned a whole lot of history and some cool places to take the dogs. Absolutely loved it! We got a free bag of treats at the end. Highly recommend it!

    Amazing Tour!

Went on this tour with my cavalier, Princeton, while in Savannah a couple weeks ago and absolutely loved it! The tour was funny and informative, while getting to see all the beautiful parts of Savannah. At the end, each guest was given a bag of Ollie B treats which quickly became a favorite in my household. I would definitely recommend this tour to anybody who has a dog or is just a big fan of dogs.

    Something for Everyone

If I could give this tour a higher rating I would! My wife and I love Savannah and have gone on a couple of tours but this was the first time we brought our puppy. My wife LOVES history so I bought this for her thinking at least I'd have the dog to keep me company while she geeked out over history. I ended up having the best time! I learned SO much and it was interesting, well organized, and entertaining. I read somewhere that it was supposed to be a 90 minute tour but we were having such a great time it lasted almost 2 1/2 hours which I thought was really refreshing because most tour guides stick to a script and treat you like a number. This tour is NoT at all like that! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! They even gave us a map of all the dog friendly places in Savannah to help plan the rest of our trip.

Great tour but needs a few things changed

We would like to give this tour a 3.5 bone review. We took this tour yesterday with our two dogs. Our guide was very informative and shared some great stories about the history of Savannah. However, they did not supply water for our pups or us and did not encourage us to bring any. It was a hot day in July and this was very much needed. It would be helpful to include stops on the tour where the pups can grab a drink of water-outside of stores or restaurants where we actually happen to find a dog bowl of water one time through out the tour. I had to ask for the pups to receive water at the end. The guide's dog was sweet, but barked at every square we went to and had a hard time standing still which seemed to distract all of us, but you can't always control what your dog is going to do. It was really nice to include the bag of dog treats at the end of the tour as part of your tour cost. Our pup really enjoys the treats! Our suggestions for the future would be to make sure to include water and pit stops for water/rest breaks especially on a hot day and potentially incorporate a relationship with local stores/restaurants as part of the tour and stops.

    Great Tour

We had a great time and learned a lot about Savannah and Georgia in general. Things I never learned in any American History class. We went at the pace of the dogs (just 2 plus our tour guide) and the dogs had a fun time as well. I recommend this tour to anyone who wants a close up tour of the city.

    Must do

Oliver is a town celebrity and Eric did a great job. We learned so much about the history of the town. Things that we didn’t even think about.

    Ces la vie

4/5 because the tour dog Riley bit our 4 month old puppy causing lacerations around his eye! The puppy is fine just spooked. The dog walk itself was great, very informative, nice pace, very friendly and dog-loving people. Still a positive review because the owners can’t help an otherwise well-behaved ambassador dog and they were shocked by Riley’s behavior. The owner Eric offered a full refund, which was noble and appreciated. Maybe communicate ahead of time if you have a puppy but would recommend.

    Great Tour!

We had a fabulous tour with Eric today. Ollie was a gracious host. We did a private tour and loved the walk and the wonderful stories of old Savannah. Now we know why you would want to keep up with the Jones'! Eric was always mindful of our two doggy tourists- stopping when needed for water or a good sniff. So happy we found this tour. I

    Fun for everyone

Savannah is so rich with history, that a tour is highly recommended. This tour was perfect for us, just traveling through with 2 kids and a dog. Kids were really engaged in all the stories, and collectively we all learned a lot. I also really enjoyed walking vs riding, really felt we could look around and take in the sights.

A Tail Wagging Tour of Historic Savannah

We had a great time on the dog walking tour! Our dog is young and full of energy and lives being around other dogs, there was time for the dogs to get to know each other before going on the tour. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about Savannah and walked at a great pace for all of the dogs on the tour. We loved that the tour gave us so much history and gave our dog the time to be social! At the end our dog got some really great treats and we got a dog friendly map of Savannah’s stores and restaurants!
We would highly recommend this to any fellow travelers with four legged friends!

    So much fun!

Great walking tour filled with information about historic Savannah. Nice pace. Very informative. All the dogs in our group were great and seemed to enjoy being part of our little pack! We walked away with a custom map of dog friendly restaurants and shops. Highly recommend.

Special Treat for human and pup

As a history buff enchanted by the town of Savannah, this tour was one of the highlights of my visit. I was so excited to bring my pup and enjoy time with fellow dog lovers and a great tour guide(have to double check if I remember the name correctly. I think it was Eric)! We were greeted with a pack of local fresh dog treats and we loved the tour of the various squares and monuments. Lots of really interesting facts along the way. I am so grateful I got to know the town in a deeper way as a result of the tour. My dog loved time with me and I didn’t have to sacrifice time with her for a great tour! Would HIGHLY recommend. Thanks again to Oliver Bentley’s!

    Mixed Feelings

After all 5-bone reviews I am hesitant to write this, but here goes anyway. First the positives: This tour was without a doubt extremely informative. We were given so much history and so many interesting and fun facts about Savannah's past--things we never would have learned on our own. There is no way we will remember it all! Our guide was very professional and knowledgeable; a very nice guy. Also, we were the only ones on the tour, so it turned into a private tour, but that's a split between positive and negative because we really would have enjoyed the dynamics of more people and pups, and might have rescheduled had we known. Now the not-so-positive (but not terrible points). As odd as it may seem, we didn't get the impression that our guide (not Lisa as many others have mentioned) was a real "dog person," and beyond allowing them to come along, the tour didn't really accommodate our dogs at all. Yes, they could pee along the way, but there was no point in the tour where there was a "anybody need to go potty break?" moment. Those moments were more an interruption to the tour than a planned part of the tour. Also, there was no consideration for a water break and again, we felt like it would be an interruption to stop long enough to give our pups water. It was a cool day, so we weren't worried, but by the end of the tour, they were definitely thirsty. This tour was like any other tour that allows dogs, and since we do only dog friendly activities when we travel, we have been on many of those, so we are used to that. The thing is, we were expecting this tour to be different, more inclusive of our dogs needs, so it was disappointing. The tour was 2 hours (30 minutes longer than expected). To be fair, we were held up twice--once for some dog lovers that couldn't resist meeting the pups and once because we very surprisingly crossed paths with a former colleague from home! So that explains a bit of the overtime. As much as we appreciated all we learned and saw, for us, less would have been better. We would have preferred the expected 90-minute tour that allowed time for potty breaks, water breaks, photo opportunities (which also felt like an interruption), and minor unexpected pauses in the walk. If this tour wasn't advertised as being geared towards dogs, I would not have taken two bones off, but it was, and there-in lies the disappointment.

    Best walking tour ever!!

Great walking tour and history lesson of Savannah Georgia. The guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the city. His 4 legged assistant was very helpful with leading the other dogs around during the tour. The guide also provided a bag of all natural treats for each of the dogs in attendance. An overall great experience. If you're ever in Savannah with your dog, this is a "must do" tour.

    Wonderful, interesting tour

We took the tour with our Goldendoodle Annie on Jan 23. What a great experience. We had the opportunity to learn some history of Savannah that you could never receive on the trolleys. Our tour leader was very professional and certainly knew his Savannah history. We highly recommend this tour!

    Great sniffs

The tour operator was very accommodating. We could not attend a public tour due to our own time restraints, so he set up a private tour in the morning! Great service and we learned a lot. My dog enjoyed all the sniffs :)

    So much fun!

I took this tour with my 9 y/o greyhound after moving to Savannah as a way to get acquainted with the historic district. We had the best time! Our human guide was super knowledgeable, and my dog got along great with her canine "assistant." A really wonderful, entertaining, and informative experience. Highly recommend!

    What Fun!

May, 2017. Oliver Bentley's dog walk tour is so much fun. Lisa and Abby were our human and dog, very experienced, tour guides. The tour took us around the historic portion of Savannah, including many of the parks. Lisa is so knowledgeable and engaging! Because of the high aftn temperatures, we requested an early morning tour and Oliver B's was exceptionally accommodating. A bag of Oliver's food grade treats were given for both our dogs. Highly recommend.

    5 star

We were traveling with our dog Jack and didn't know how we could tour Savannah. Well! We found Oliver Bentley's dog tour and it was a highlight of our trip. Our docent was fantastic and we had a ball. We visited 7 squares and learned the histrory of each....very interesting and an excellent presentation.

    Wonderful Tour

Beautiful walk with the dogs with some historical substance. Travelling with dogs sometimes limits what you learn about a place and I wish there were more options like this in cities with histories to tell. Thank you Lisa and Abbey! I will recommend to every travelling dog owner I know.

    Four paws up!

If visiting Savannah with your furry family member this tour is a must! Before the tour began the owner, Eric, came out to meet us which I found to be very nice and made the tour feel more personal. Our tour guide, Lisa, was fantastic and very knowledgeabl, able to answer all of our questions. Hercules also loved his guide, Abbie girl, who showed him all the best places to sniff. We visited two weeks after Hurricane Matthew moved through so we ended up be the only people on the tour, which was nice, because it felt more like a stroll through the town with the locals than a guided tour. We all loved the tour and highly recommend it and if you can visit in October, we went at the end of October and it was beautiful. Hercules also loved the complimentary treats!!

    Fun for the entire family!

We scheduled a private tour because we were unsure how our three dogs would act around other people and dogs. Both Eric, the owner, and Lisa, our tour guide, were very pleasant and accommodating. Lisa did a great job of explaining the history of Savannah, as well as pointing out famous movie spots (Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil). Each of the dogs was also provided a small 'walk a bout' bag of cookies. Both humans and dogs enjoyed themselves! I would highly recommend this tour!

    Highly Enjoyable

I took the tour with my chocolate lab, Linus. First of all, my tour had to be rescheduled because of a conflict of some kind and the owner, Eric, was extremely nice and accommodating about it. I ended up being able to do it the very next day. On the downside, the store was closed so no biscuits. I was also the only one on the tour that day so it was nice having a private tour all to myself, but as a dog lover I got to admit that I was looking forward to seeing some other dogs. Anyway, my guide was very knowledgeable and upbeat. I learned a lot of the more obscure histories of Savannah that you don't hear mentioned in other tours or guide books. It was all very interesting and a very pleasant walk. :)

    Great Experience at Oliver Bentleys

We decided that on our recent trip to Savannah that our dog, Monty, would go with us. Oliver Bentleys was on our list of businesses to visit and finding out about the tour was icing on the cake. We We booked the tour, but the guide was sick and unable to make it. Since that was our last day in town, Eric, the owner, wanted to make it up to us. He refunded our money and gave us a tin of his treats along with the normal bag that you get on the tour. He and Ollie B, the face of the company, walked around town with our family and Eric showed us some of the things he loves about the city as well as great places to eat that were accommodating to dogs. We had a fantastic time and couldn't believe that he took time out of his busy day as a small business owner to make us feel like we were his only customers!

I don't write reviews - so you know this must be good!

Ok, go for the tour and stay for the biscuits! First, more than anything, the service at Oliver Bentley's is exemplary. Second, the tour is a fantastic historic walking tour of Savannah that will give you and your pup some great exercise while learning about the city as you would on other tours while at the same time talking about dog specific interests as well. Not to mention, because Ollie B's isn't one of those historic tour chains, you may get your tour guide all to yourself…as we did! It was fantastic for us and our dog…who was tuckered out at the end of the tour and crashed hard back in our hotel room while we went out for a relaxing dinner. Finally, don't forget to pick yourself up a couple pounds of their biscuits…our dog is a nut for them and I am sure yours will be too.
